Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 85 words. Consequently, the task is addressed only partially. The position is stated, but the ideas are severely underdeveloped and lack the necessary supporting arguments or examples required for a Task 2 essay. The content is too brief to allow for a full development of the topic, resulting in a failure to address the prompt adequately.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into two short paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is limited due to the extreme brevity of the text. While some basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'Moreover' are used, the overall structure is underdeveloped. The logical flow is interrupted by the lack of sufficient content to connect the initial premise to a well-reasoned conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases such as 'modern days' and 'create the beauty of the city' are imprecise and do not demonstrate the range required for higher bands. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'decrease animals for people consumption', which hinders clarity. The range is limited to very common words, and there is no attempt to use less common or academic vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the sentences. For example, 'animals play important role' lacks an article, and 'creuel' is misspelled. The sentence structures are simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequent errors and limited range of structures prevent a higher score.
