Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this period of technological advancement people are coming across several ways of making money and cruelty with animal for profit has become the most common way. I totally agree with this notion and my opinion will be discussed in further paragraphs with conclusion.
Supporting my agreement to given statement, I firmly believe that using animal for personal consumption or for economical purpose is unethical. People have number of option to explore but purposely choose the wrong option for personal benefits . For instance, killing a cow for using its meat for burger production is cruel. Moreover, vegetarian option is more ethical to have as well as more economical.
Secondly, people have started spreading misinformation that non vegetarian food is the only option for better nutrition to human body and that is completely a myth. Moreover, when it comes to a cruelty with animal, killing them is not the only reason however, separating the young ones from their parent for personal consumption is also not right. To cite an example, young ones has the right to consume the milk of their parent animal but are forced to get separated so they don’t have it in order to use that milk for selling in the market for profit.
In conclusion, human brain is purposely selective when it comes to adopting a pet and choosing a meat burger for their individual consumption. Whereas, caring for a pet and eating a meat is hypocritical. I believe that aforementioned points are strongly supporting my view point.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have clearly stated your position and maintained it throughout the essay. You address the prompt by discussing the cruelty involved in animal consumption and the ethical implications. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the separation of young animals from their parents, this point could be expanded with more specific detail or a broader perspective on the industry. The essay covers the requirements, but the arguments remain at a somewhat superficial level. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph contains a fully developed argument with a clear link back to the main thesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is slightly abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'aforementioned points' in the conclusion, which refers back to a somewhat loosely structured argument. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring a tighter logical progression would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'technological advancement', 'economical purpose', and 'hypocritical'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors in collocation, such as 'cruelty with animal' (should be 'cruelty to animals') and 'non vegetarian food' (should be 'non-vegetarian' or 'meat-based'). You also rely on some repetitive phrasing. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to express complex ideas more naturally. The errors present do not impede communication, but they do limit the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'people have number of option' (should be 'a number of options'), 'young ones has the right' (should be 'have'), and 'eating a meat' (should be 'eating meat'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur often enough to affect the overall fluency. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly pluralization and articles, will help you achieve a higher band.
