Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern scenario, Animals are important part of the food chain. Because of this , individuals should avoid consuming the meat as raising animals for people consumption is cruel. Although, this view points have their own merits and demerits , but In my opinion , I disagree with the statement.

first and foremost, animals are part of the environment. They also help to balance, between environment and nature. Even though, having this benefits some animals are great source of nutrients and proteins. For example, hen is good source of carbohydrates, fats, vitamins. Which can provide strength to the bones. Moreover, Eggs are also good for health. If people has the deficiency of the vitamin B12 . It provide different vitamins and minerals. To explain this , According to a survey which was done by the US government stated that, individuals who eats eggs on daily basis have greater value of the vitamin B12 than who eats vegan diet.

Furthermore, many farmers and people who sells animals as part of their business for them it is daily source of income to them. They spend their time on it . If the consumption of animal will declined day by day they will lost their income source. Apart from this , If everyone will eats vegan diet than it will also affect the live cycle of animal and food chain which can lead to more population of animals than human. It can also imbalanced the environment. To illustrated this , An article which is published by the animal care , the number of the animals counting are increasing day by day as people are more focused on vegan diet which lead to imbalanced in the ratio of animals and human species.

In conclusion , Both of the view points have their own points, as animal are part of the food chain and they keep balance, between environment and nature. However, I strongly disagree with this points as animals are good source of carbohydrates, fats, vitamins. It can help to keep balance of deficiency of the vitamins too.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the statement. The ideas are relevant, focusing on nutritional benefits and economic impacts. However, the development is somewhat uneven. For instance, the argument regarding the 'overpopulation' of animals due to a vegan diet is logically weak and lacks scientific grounding, which limits the persuasiveness of the essay. While the main points are clear, some supporting details, such as the claim that hens provide carbohydrates, are factually inaccurate, which detracts from the overall quality of the argument. To improve, ensure that supporting examples are both logical and factually sound.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'first and foremost', 'furthermore', and 'in conclusion', though some are used mechanically or incorrectly (e.g., 'Although, this view points have their own merits and demerits , but In my opinion'). The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is sometimes disrupted by awkward phrasing. While the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, the overuse of simple transitions and the lack of sophisticated linking words prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Improving the variety and precision of cohesive devices would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning. However, there is a lack of precision and some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'people consumption' instead of 'human consumption' and 'counting are increasing' instead of 'numbers are increasing'. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the range is limited and repetitive. There are also instances of word-form errors, such as 'imbalanced' used as a verb instead of 'imbalance'. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and expanding their range of academic vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'individuals who eats', 'people has the deficiency') and article usage (e.g., 'the vitamin B12', 'the live cycle'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and capitalization issues. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. The student needs to focus on basic grammatical accuracy, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used correctly in an academic context.
