Student answer (Band 5.5)
Animals helps us in many ways such as providing nutrition, companionship, balance in nature and teaching us how to spread love. Most folks believe that it is inhumane activity to raise animals for human ingestion that is esteemed but not truly obvious. I am going partially agree with above notion and will share my views in upcoming paragraphs.
Primarily, animals are most loving creatures of globe which is connected to human in many ways. In this modern era, due to development in many countries wildlife creatures the one who suffers more such as loosing shelters, destroying natural habitats to easy targets of humans. Therefore, unnecessary cruel treatment of animals should be reduced. For instance, it can be seen that as many cities in China, due to development in outskirts areas wild creatures suffers a lot and struggle to survive.
On the other hand , prevailing my point of view animals are the main source of nutrition for human being such as providing protein to nurturing them. Moreover, if human consumption is stop then it is unable to control the population of animals which can lead some serious causes. For example, in Cuba the animal poaching is illegal where billions of fine is esteemed on individuals who ever do so which save the life animals but increasing the issue of lack of shelter or food resources.
To put in a nutshell, I reckon that human consumption is cruel for eating and killing solely innocent animals but completely eliminating animal product is not the best solution

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a balanced position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention the nutritional value of meat and the issue of animal population control, the arguments lack depth and specific, logical support. For instance, the example regarding Cuba is unclear and does not effectively support the point about population control. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea that directly relates to the prompt. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and could more clearly summarise your main arguments to reinforce your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'prevailing my point of view' or 'that is esteemed but not truly obvious.' The logical flow between sentences is sometimes disrupted by awkward phrasing, making it difficult to follow the progression of your argument. To improve, focus on using transition words more naturally and ensure that each sentence clearly links to the one before it. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which affects the overall readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'human ingestion' instead of 'human consumption' and 'most loving creatures of globe' instead of 'most loving creatures on the globe.' Some phrases are used incorrectly, which occasionally impedes the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary. Avoid translating directly from your native language, as this often leads to unnatural phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently make errors with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Animals helps us', 'creatures the one who suffers') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to be distracting. To improve, focus on mastering basic grammatical rules, such as pluralisation and verb tense consistency, before attempting more complex sentence structures.
