Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is widely believed that people should never consume meat because increasing habitat of animals for human being is disheartened. I agree with this viewpoint because for religious purpose and personal belief.

One major reason is that taking life of an animals for the human satisfaction is not satisfactory. This means that saving habitat of animals can actually help to get benefit of their natural byproduct. For example, A cow is being cut and beef is widely eaten but in return that is not beneficial for any individuals in their future life. But their by product milk is widely acceptable and highly nutritious.

Another important reason is that Our religious prospects, that don't allow us to consume such items because it is against our cultural beliefs. For instance, Mainly in rural areas where society doesn't accept the families who are eating meat in their meal. They abandoned the whole family from the society. Therefore, no one can able to help or support them even in emergency cases. Moreover, raising animals is a part of pooja for people who believed in god.

However, young generation have followed eating meat in their diet because they believe that it provides high protein content and beneficial for their health. Although consuming meat is highly profitable for health, it is majorly unaccepted dishes in my country.

To conclude, raising animals for human consumption is highly not accepted though it provides benefit to the health of any individuals who are concentrating to make their body fit and to stay active.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide reasons related to religious beliefs and animal welfare, the arguments are often unclear or logically disjointed. For instance, the link between 'saving habitat' and 'natural byproduct' is confusing and does not directly support the argument against meat consumption. The explanation regarding religious prospects and social abandonment is relevant but lacks sufficient depth to fully convince the reader. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea that directly supports your thesis statement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward transitions and unclear referencing. For example, the phrase 'This means that' is used to introduce an argument that does not logically follow the previous sentence. Additionally, some cohesive devices are used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'For instance, Mainly in rural areas'. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically connects to the one before it.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and unnatural collocations. Phrases like 'increasing habitat of animals for human being is disheartened' and 'religious prospects' are misused and impede clarity. You also rely on repetitive language, such as 'widely accepted' and 'highly profitable'. To improve, try to learn words in context rather than in isolation. Focus on using more precise terminology related to ethics, nutrition, and cultural practices to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally make the meaning difficult to grasp. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('young generation have followed'), incorrect article usage ('a animals'), and awkward phrasing ('no one can able to help'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization after commas. While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb forms to improve your accuracy.
