Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that folks should not kill wild life creatures especially animals to eat their meat as it seems like a cruel action towards them. Before presenting my point of view on this statement , this easy will discuss why killing animals look like a cold hearted action.
To commence with it is believed that hurting animals to fulfill human needs is not a good way to survive because it leads to extinction of wildlife species .Moreover most of the species endangered due to the hunting . People enjoy hunting wild creature later on eat that for their fun . For instance wild cats are endangered species Canada result of people hunt them a lot in past few years .
Furthermore unintentionally people invites gastrointestinal infections by eating animals . The butchers use same knifes to cut all kind of meats which leads to cross contamination and spreading infections . Despite of this some food stores selling raw meats that cause stomach issues. For example botulism is a disease which occur due to consuming raw chicken .
To conclude , I totally agree with that killing and harming animals to satisfy human hunger should not be acceptable . The consequences are breaking food chain and unbalancing the ecosystem. However government should implement strict action to preserve endangered species and other animals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention animal cruelty and the food chain, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. Furthermore, the response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of your ideas. To improve, ensure you expand on your points with more detailed explanations or additional examples. The inclusion of irrelevant information, such as the paragraph regarding gastrointestinal infections and botulism, distracts from the core argument about the morality of eating meat, which is the focus of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Despite of this' (should be 'Despite this' or 'In addition to this'). The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly the transition to the paragraph about food safety, which does not directly support the argument about animal cruelty. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses strictly on the main argument will help improve the flow and logical progression of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing like 'folks', 'good way', and 'bad way'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'wild life creatures' instead of 'wild animals' and 'Canada result of' which is grammatically unclear. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise terminology related to ethics, ecology, and animal welfare. Focus on using words that accurately convey your meaning rather than relying on simple, informal language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'this easy will discuss' (should be 'essay'), 'most of the species endangered due to the hunting' (missing verb 'are'), and 'same knifes' (should be 'knives'). Punctuation errors, such as spaces before commas, are also present. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of subject-verb agreement and pluralization rules.
