Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some proportion of society believe taking non vegetarian diet is bad because they hurt animals for there own-self. According to my perspective, I'm agree with this point.

First of all, animals are herbivorus. Most of the animals eat grass as a source of their food and human eat animal as their source of food which sound weird. people who eats meat they thought its the only source of protein just for that they prepfer to harm animals. But according to the food industry , the highest source of protein is vegetarian products like chickpeas and soyabeans. Secondly, scientifically meat is not good for health. For example, a scientist of WHO did the research on two group in which one was vegetarian, no meat and other was non vegertarian, meat lover. He did the compleate blood check up of both group in 3 weeks of time period and showed that vegetarian's group was more healtier like no extra fat on liver or other body parts, on other side second group members report was kind of average, 7 memebers had fatty liver and high glucose level in their blood.

On the other hand, animals are the part of food chain. For instance, grass is eating by goat or chicken, then goat or chicken or their product is eating by human. So, if the chicken or goat stops eating grass then the amount of grass will be raised all over. With that, if the chickens or goat are not eatable by human then their number was be increased. As a result, to control this food chain people need to eat or use them as a source of food.

In conclusion, I know control on food chain is important but as a vegetarian I believe our body does not need meat as a suppliement or it's not required to harm any living being for any personal reason.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the task by presenting an opinion on the consumption of meat, which is in line with the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The arguments presented about the cruelty of meat consumption and health benefits of vegetarianism are valid but not thoroughly supported with enough coherence or detail. The discussion on the food chain is relevant but feels disjointed from the main argument. Overall, Task Achievement is partially met, earning a score of 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

Coherence and cohesion in the response are present but need considerable improvement. Some ideas flow logically, such as the discussion on vegetarianism, but transitions between different points are abrupt and disrupt the overall flow. For instance, the shift from discussing health benefits to the food chain issue could be smoother. Additionally, some ideas, like the research study mention and food chain logic, could be better linked for clearer understanding. The score for coherence and cohesion is around 5.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The lexical resource demonstrated in the essay shows some attempts at varied vocabulary, but there are several inaccuracies and awkward phrases, such as "non vegetarian diet" and "the amount of grass will be raised all over." Additionally, spelling mistakes, such as "there" instead of "their" and "healtier" instead of "healthier," detract from the clarity of the message. Still, some appropriate vocabulary choices are present, such as "protein" and "food chain". The score for lexical resource is approximately 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range and accuracy in the essay feature a mixture of simple and complex structures, but many errors impede understanding. Errors such as subject-verb agreement (e.g., "humans eat animal" should be "humans eat animals") and incorrect use of prepositions contribute to the lack of clarity. Additionally, sentence structures are often fragmented or poorly constructed, undermining overall communication. Due to these consistent issues, the score for grammatical range and accuracy would likely be a 5.

Overall feedback

Your essay presents a relevant stance on meat consumption; however, clarity and detail need improvement. Focus on developing your arguments further by providing more evidence and examples, which will strengthen your position. Consider linking ideas with transitional phrases to enhance coherence and flow. Additionally, pay attention to your grammar and spelling to improve readability. Work on expanding your vocabulary with more precise terms to elevate your writing. Aim for structured paragraphs to help organize your thoughts more clearly.
