Student answer (Band 5.5)
Raising animals for human consumption is cruel to some extent. Animals are vital part of our ecosystem and they help us keeping the balance intact. In this essay, I will discuss the facts that how people should focus on vegetarian diet too rather then just relying on meat as killing more animals will disrupt the nature in coming years.
In my opinion, the use of meat has been raised to a substantial amount which led to a marginally decrease in animal population. Many restaurants have versatile dishes of beef and chicken in their menu's. The government should take appropriate measures to put ban on hunting. Seminars should be conducted to reduce the consumption of animals with the help of local animal NGO'S. Meat is a essential source of proteins and carbohydrates however animals shouldn't be the only source of it.
On the other hand, Muslims sacrifice their animals on a religious event and they distribute their meat to the poor and needy people which in my point of view should be encouraged. By contrast, consuming meat during the whole year should be discouraged. As I said earlier, animals are integral part of our nature and they shouldn't be killed to fill the satiety of human beings.
In conclusion, I would like to say that animals are great servants to human beings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you present a position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. For instance, the suggestion to 'ban hunting' is mentioned but not explored in relation to the prompt about meat consumption. The essay touches on the topic but lacks the necessary expansion to fully address the prompt. To improve, you must provide more detailed reasoning and specific examples to support your viewpoint, ensuring that each paragraph contributes meaningfully to the overall argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'In conclusion' and 'On the other hand', the transitions between sentences are occasionally mechanical. The logical flow is hindered by the brevity of the response, making it difficult to follow a clear, sustained argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to your central thesis.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'fill the satiety of human beings' and 'versatile dishes', which sound unnatural. Additionally, there are minor errors in punctuation, such as the unnecessary apostrophe in 'menu's' and 'NGO'S'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations, and pay closer attention to standard English usage and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'how people should focus on vegetarian diet too rather then just relying' (should be 'than') and 'a essential source' (should be 'an'). There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence structure will help improve your performance.
