Student answer (Band 5.5)
For the purpose of eating meat, raising animal is unethical, human should not consume nonveg and try to adopt vegetarian culture instead. In my point of view I totally agree with this notion because its unethical activity and everyone is able to live equal amount of life on this mother earth.
To commence with, in this time people should avoid to have nonveg option in their meal, because animal has also life, they have family as well. For the taste of our tongue we can't kill innocent life and consume their meat. This activity I have noticed in many area, that there are certain business who are raising animals and when they grew up completely, they supply that animal for business. For instance, farm which raise chicken, goat and cows.
Furthermore, its totally unethical activity to raise and kill animal for consumption, because every living being on this earth has equal right to live here, they also have emotions , family so its very cruel to kill them and use their meat. Moreover, people should to take other options such as try to adopt vegan or vegetarian to ovoid this ongoing activity of consuming animal meat.
However, some people are habbituated to eat meat in their meal and they can't eat other things as they have strong habbit of being nonvegetarian. They think that if they start to eat veg so there should be shortage of veg food and crops. Because of this reason they consuming meat regularly.
In conclusion, people have huge desire to eat meat because of their taste, but I strongly agree that human should to avoid eat meat because its totally unethical activity .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of vegetarianism due to ethical concerns. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. The arguments focus heavily on the cruelty of killing animals, but they lack depth or broader context. For instance, the counter-argument regarding the potential shortage of crops is mentioned but not effectively refuted or explored. The ideas are relevant but remain at a surface level, which limits the overall impact of the argument. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more sophisticated reasoning or specific examples beyond general statements about animal rights.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are used, but the internal flow between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. For example, the transition between the ethical argument and the counter-argument in the fourth paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'this activity' to refer to complex concepts. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically flows from the previous one would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'nonveg', 'unethical activity', and 'habbituated' (which is misspelled). There is also a tendency to repeat words such as 'meat', 'animal', and 'unethical' throughout the text. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise, academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'livestock production', 'moral implications', 'dietary habits', or 'sustainability'. Focusing on collocations and avoiding informal abbreviations like 'nonveg' will significantly improve your lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'human should not consume', 'animal has also life'), missing articles (e.g., 'in many area'), and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'people should to take', 'they consuming meat'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs.
