Student answer (Band 6.0)

People eat meat more than vegetables that leads to the millions of animal are killed by humans in a day and it should be strictly prohibited by the law. I completely agree with this assertion of statement. I will explain this concern in a detail including relevant example and reasons behind this trend.

Animal consumption is increasing day by day by humans. The reason is false assumptions of getting more nutrients, protein and vitamins from meat as compared to the veggies. This is why, people raise the animals only for consumption. For example, Chicken meat comes with labelled on the package that it raised with or without antibiotics, organic, halal (naturally died). This makes people buy meat as per their taste and preference.

Another reason is legally selling meat. There is no any stringent law on killing animals just for selling and consuming. This allow people to kill millions of animals just for their benefits even if there are other substitutes of getting similar benefits as meat. Without having any restriction on animal abuse, people are free to kill them without any fear. The life is same of all living animals in terms of surviving, hurting and dying. Humans can still survive if they avoid eating meat as they have alternatives of fulfilling their body's requirements.

In conclusion, although meat consumption provides more advantages to humans, there are their substitutes which could avoid killing animals' life and can provide same benefits as meat to their body. killing animals mean killing humanity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of banning meat consumption. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention health and legal aspects, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the claim that meat consumption is based on 'false assumptions' about nutrients is asserted but not effectively supported with evidence or logical explanation. The conclusion introduces a new, slightly contradictory point by acknowledging 'advantages' to meat consumption, which weakens the consistency of your argument. To improve, focus on expanding your main points with more specific examples or logical reasoning rather than repeating the same general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'For example' and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical or awkward, such as the transition between the second and third paragraphs. Some referencing is also unclear; for example, the phrase 'This allow people' lacks a clear antecedent. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more sophisticated progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your main points clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'consumption', 'antibiotics', and 'substitutes'. However, there are several instances of unnatural phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'the millions of animal are killed' (should be 'millions of animals') and 'naturally died' (should be 'died of natural causes'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic descriptors. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and academic vocabulary to convey your ideas with greater nuance and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('the millions of animal are killed'), article usage ('the veggies'), and awkward phrasing ('There is no any stringent law'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and article usage, and practice constructing more complex sentences with correct punctuation to enhance your grammatical range.
