Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individual believe that raising animals for human consumption is brutal. I partially agree with this statement as animals meat is a good source of protein, while raising Animals on antibiotics can be harmful to meet the excessive demand and it could be expensive.

Animals meat can be a very good source of natural protein. This is because naturally raised animals meat can provide many health benefits and people use almost every part of animals body in cooking because it is beneficial for humans. For instance, If person is experiencing joint pain or bad gut health, Doctors do recommend eating goat feet soup. Moreover, people who regularly exercise or trying maintain muscle mass do use animal based meat to reach their daily protein intake.

However, raising animals on antibiotics to fulfill excessive demand could be harmful. This is because if one fell sick or being exposed to any virus, the whole batch will be affected which leads to many diseases in people who are consuming it so rather than just focusing on meat based diet, people can replace it with vegetarian diet. Furthermore, it is very expensive to buy animal meat and many other good options such as plant based meat, which is a very good option for replacement.

In conclusion, although it could be harmful, expensive, traumatic for some people to slaughtering animals for their meat, many other option are available for people consumption; but it can serve as a great source of protein with many health benefits for human boday

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a partially agreeable stance. You identify both the nutritional benefits of meat and the ethical/health concerns regarding industrial farming. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While you provide a specific example regarding 'goat feet soup' for joint pain, the argument regarding antibiotics and disease transmission is slightly underdeveloped and lacks clarity. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with a clear logical link back to the main argument. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and could more effectively synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the flow within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing or mechanical transitions. For instance, the transition between the health benefits of meat and the discussion on antibiotics could be smoother. Additionally, there are some issues with referencing, such as the unclear use of 'it' in the final paragraph, which makes the progression of ideas slightly less fluid. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'consumption', 'nutritional', and 'antibiotics'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'animals meat' (should be 'animal meat'), 'human boday' (spelling error), and 'slaughtering animals for their meat' (grammatical mismatch). You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the repetition of basic terms like 'good option' limits your score. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your vocabulary is used accurately in context rather than relying on repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors that affect clarity, such as 'If person is experiencing joint pain... Doctors do recommend' and 'if one fell sick or being exposed to any virus'. There are also frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'Some individual believe' instead of 'Some individuals believe'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on consistent subject-verb agreement and refining your use of articles will significantly improve your grammatical accuracy.
