People should never eat meat because raising animals for human consumption is cruel.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
Meats is a good source of protein which is considered one of the most important component of growth and development in both children and adults alike.
It will be considered unfair to say people should stop eating meat, however it is important to note that not all animals are rared for domestic purposes and also not all animal are raised to be consumed. For example cats, dogs and the likes are raised to be pets to humans and as such are not consumed for nutritional gains, while animals such as goats, chickens, cows and so on are reared for consumption.
One of the reasons we have animal control units is to regulate how we treat animals, animals that are met to be pets are kept as pets and those that are met to be consumed are consumed.
Personally I feel it is unfair to say people should stop eating meat because of animal safety without putting into consideration the nutritional needs of humans.as everyone can not become a vegetarian.
In others to reach a balance between humans nutritional needs and animal safety it is wise to distinguish between pets and animals reared for consumption, and also pets and animal control organizations or units should see to it that the protection of animals and pets are looked into.
Also farms and poultry’s that rear animals for consumption should be funded by the government ,in other for the necessary materials needed to keep the farm running to be available.
Also we as consumers and humans must desist from indiscriminate killing of animals especially those In the bush or forests.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that meat consumption should be banned. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention nutritional needs and the distinction between pets and livestock, the arguments remain at a surface level. For instance, the suggestion that the government should fund poultry farms is a bit tangential to the core ethical debate regarding animal cruelty. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the ethical counter-arguments or provide more nuanced reasoning regarding the sustainability or necessity of meat consumption, rather than simply listing categories of animals.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. You rely heavily on simple connectors like 'also' and 'for example'. Some transitions, such as 'In others to reach a balance', are slightly awkward and hinder the natural progression of ideas. Additionally, the paragraphing is a bit inconsistent, with some very short paragraphs that could be better integrated into a more cohesive structure. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'nutritional gains', 'reared', and 'indiscriminate killing'. However, there are instances of word-choice errors and repetition, such as 'Meats is a good source' (should be 'Meat') and the repetitive use of 'animals' and 'pets'. The range is somewhat limited, and there is little evidence of less common or idiomatic language. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations to avoid repetitive phrasing and to demonstrate a broader command of the English language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. You have several subject-verb agreement errors, such as 'Meats is' and 'not all animal are raised'. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after commas (e.g., 'meat, however') and inconsistent capitalization. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical agreement and ensuring that punctuation marks are correctly placed with appropriate spacing.
