Student answer (Band 5.0)

Mostly people never eat meat because raising animals for human consumption is cruel. I am totally disagreeing with this statement. Nowadays, mostly people think about that the animal consumption is not cruel because we need meat for our body requirement or energy level, being a Muslim we have to rights in Islam to select halal animal for our eating specially for our traditional function like Eid ul Azha ,our focused must be on halal animal we cannot cut and eat any kind of animal we are bound to maintain our basic Islamic rules which had to follow strictly, so that this consumption is not cruel in Islam for halal animals. For example, if we look in our neighbor country in India there is so many Hindu who never eat meat because raising for Humam consumption is cruel.so that they do more respect of animal specially cow, buffalos ect.in my opinion it's not cruel this is the demand of is Erra. We live in an Islamic country there is very limited source of food and animal is a big source of food and money also some professional can work hard on animals only because they lives well in the society and manage their financial budge, in short, some people should never eat meat because raising animals for human consumption is cruel in their positive or negative way of use. Sometimes it depends on our choice or demand ,i have explain my point of view on behalf of Islam and this the best regional way to disagree with statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the statement. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. While you mention religious perspectives and economic factors, the arguments are not fully extended or supported with clear logic. For instance, the transition between the religious argument and the economic argument is abrupt, and the conclusion is somewhat confusing, as it seems to contradict your earlier stance by suggesting that the issue depends on one's perspective. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed point that directly supports your main argument, and avoid summarizing your own writing in the final sentence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and run-on sentences. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'For example' and 'in short', but they are often applied mechanically or incorrectly. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. For example, the sentence starting with 'so that this consumption is not cruel' lacks a clear connection to the preceding clause. To improve, focus on using shorter, clearer sentences and ensure that each sentence logically follows the one before it.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'meat', 'animal', and 'cruel'. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'animal consumption' instead of 'meat consumption', 'neighbor country' instead of 'neighboring country', and 'financial budge' instead of 'financial budget'. Some phrases are also unclear, such as 'demand of is Erra'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the presence of errors in word formation prevent the use of a wider range of vocabulary. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, including run-on sentences and comma splices, such as '...cruel.so that they do more respect...'. Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, for example, 'mostly people think' and 'some professional can work'. Additionally, there are errors in article usage and prepositional phrases. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for punctuation errors like missing spaces after periods.
