Student answer (Band 5.0)

A few individuals believes never eat meat because raising animals for human consumption is cruel instead, This essay totally agrees with the statement because it reduces animal suffering and can improve human health.

One of the advantages of not having meat because raising animals for human consumption is cruel. This is because it reduces animal suffering ,lesser animals would be raised and slaughtered for food and it can reduce the demand for intensive farming where animals may live in poor conditions . For example, chickens and pigs raised in a very congested and confined spaces.

Another advantages of why not having meat is crucial is that it can improve human health. This is because people encouraged to eat local vegetables like cauli flower, broccoli, carrot ,spinach and pumpkin , resulting fibers from these foods is important to human health. It can reduce excessive consumption of saturated fat found in some meat products. For example, people are encouraged to be vegetarian to maintain their health by having green and heathy vegetables found in their local areas.

In my opinion , Completely avoiding meat products is not necessary for human beings. There are many pros of having meat , it provides proteins, iron, and vitamin B212 from these food. Being tottaly stopped to consume meat is better to encouraged farming . we should eat only legally meat available in our country like chickens, pork and goats rather than eating cows meatb which is illegal in nepal.

In coclusion , I believe that cruel treatment of animals for food should be discouraged, but I donot believe that everyone must stop eating meat.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether people should never eat meat because raising animals is cruel. However, the position presented by the student contains a fundamental contradiction. In the introduction, the writer states, 'This essay totally agrees with the statement,' but in the fourth paragraph, they completely contradict this by stating, 'In my opinion, Completely avoiding meat products is not necessary for human beings.' This inconsistency prevents the position from being fully clear throughout. While some relevant ideas are presented—such as reducing animal suffering and discussing human health benefits—these ideas are underdeveloped and the sudden shift in stance prevents a fully coherent progression of argument. Therefore, the response aligns best with Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the organizational structure is undermined by the sudden reversal of the writer's thesis midway through the text. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often awkward, repetitive, or mechanically applied, such as starting multiple paragraphs with 'One of the advantages of...' or 'Another advantages of...'. Furthermore, referencing and logical transitions between paragraphs are frequently faulty, making the overall progression difficult to follow. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion lacks clarity and smooth flow. These features are characteristic of Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited and at times repetitive vocabulary, such as 'advantages', 'animals', and 'meat'. There are noticeable lexical errors, including spelling mistakes like 'cogli flower' (cauli flower), 'tottaly', and 'coclusion', alongside grammatical word-form errors such as 'heathy' and 'meatb'. While some topic-specific vocabulary is attempted (e.g., 'intensive farming', 'saturated fat'), the numerous inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score to Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The text contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are major grammatical errors throughout, such as missing subjects, incorrect verb forms ('A few individuals believes never eat meat'), and faulty subordination ('not having meat because raising animals... is cruel'). Punctuation and capitalization errors are also common, such as random commas before conjunctions and uncapitalized letters. Due to the high frequency of basic and complex sentence errors that frequently impede meaning, the writing falls firmly into Band 4.
