Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many individuals believe eating meat should be banned as raising animals for consumption is inhumane. I partially agree with this statement and discuss my view in the paragraph below.
To begin with, many people consume these meat product for the protein which they have in high quantity which is inhumane as they also have life and their heart beats same as us. In particular, it also falls under category which many believe is a work of devil killing someone for the personal use . To exemplify, lots of cattles were killed to exact high quality meat which provide richer protein then many of their dairy product.
On the other side, according to the science and other aspects of life it is necessary to keep food chain in command as it can also shift the balance of many being increased numbers of these animals can disrupt the flow of food chain which can cause problem. To be precise, it should done in the way which can’t effect others and ours needs are getting fulfilled side by side. In particular, it provide us food and keeps the flow of chain working and not killing them will make a huge problem or us.
In conclusion, killing animals for the food consumption is inhumane and ruthless as they are part of the nature and have heart same as us but it can also cause many problem if we let them grow in numbers which can effect overall cycle of life also, in time of need these animals can provide huge source of food when there id none to feed upon.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a partial agreement regarding whether people should never eat meat because raising animals is cruel. The writer provides some ideas to support both sides of the argument. However, the development of these ideas is limited and at times confusing or unclear, as seen in the phrasing regarding 'work of devil killing someone for the personal use.' Furthermore, the position taken is somewhat muddled by the end of the essay, where multiple competing ideas are lumped together in the conclusion. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the arguments lack depth and clear extension, which aligns the response with Band 5 descriptors where ideas remain under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, including an introduction and conclusion, which provides a basic structural framework. However, the overall progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing logic, such as shifting abruptly from protein content to moral judgments in the second paragraph. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, like the repeated use of 'In particular' and 'To be precise.' Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is often faulty, preventing smooth logical flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, placing this performance solidly at Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts to use some less common vocabulary items, such as 'inhumane,' 'disrupt the flow,' and 'food consumption,' but these are often accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and form, such as 'cattles' instead of 'cattle,' 'meat product' instead of 'meat products,' and 'effect' instead of 'affect.' Spelling mistakes like 'id' instead of 'is' also occur. While communication is generally maintained, the frequent lexical inaccuracies and restricted range prevent the writing from achieving a Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over complex structures is weak, resulting in frequent errors that cause difficulty for the reader. Run-on sentences are common, such as the lengthy sentence in the second paragraph starting with 'To begin with...' and containing multiple clauses strung together with conjunctions. Grammatical errors include subject-verb agreement issues, incorrect prepositions, and punctuation flaws. Errors are frequent enough to impede smooth reading at times, pulling the score down to Band 5.
