Student answer (Band 5.5)
I truly believe that people should follow vegeterian diet than eating meat. Because it shows cruelity against animals. Nowadays, It is common to consume meat for getting enough protien intake. But there are serveral vegetarian diet available which can help you to get protien. In regard to my opinion, I totally agree that meat should not consumed by people.
The first reason is that Animals is also a living species. They also have the sense of pain and emotion. So they can feel all that things which we understand and feel. They can connect with other living species emotionally. For example, We can see several example where animals attach with their owner. They both understand each other felling and it become the realtionship between each other. That is why raising animal is cruel for only human consumption.
Secondly, in the today's era, mostly people eat non-veg items for securing their protien intake. Vegetables and fruits are also abundant of vitamins and protiens. This vegetarian diet can secure the protein intake. Moreover, the recent study of The Harvard University is that the consumption of a red meat can increase the risk of cancer. Therefore, i think people should avoid eating meat and raising animals.
Overall, people raise animals for eating is cruel and it is not good for people's health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position of total agreement that people should not eat meat because raising animals is cruel. Main ideas are presented, such as the emotional capacity of animals and the nutritional viability of vegetarian diets, meeting some requirements of the task. However, the response falls significantly short of the word count requirement, containing only 218 words compared to the minimum of 250 words. This under-length impacts the full development of ideas, leading to a score of 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The text is organized into paragraphs with a recognizable introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'The first reason', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' are used to structure the text, though some referencing and transitions feel mechanical. Paragraphing is attempted, but the overall progression of ideas is slightly repetitive and constrained by the brief length of the writing. These features align well with the descriptors for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating basic ideas, but it contains frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'vegeterian', 'cruelity', 'protien', 'serveral', and 'non-veg'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary like 'abundant' and 'consumption', but spelling slips and inaccurate collocations ('getting enough protien intake', 'attach with their owner') limit the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'There are serveral vegetarian diet available which can help you to get protien.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Animals is also a living species', 'most people eat... is'), article omissions, and prepositions ('consumption of a red meat'). These errors occasionally impede smooth reading, placing the grammar at a Band 5.0.
