Student answer (Band 5.0)

Most people never like to enjoy animals meat beacuse thay think consuming ratio of animals meat is increasing daily and people kill them with very harsh. I strongly agree but we can cantrol this consumption in some ways.

On the first side, most people should never eat meat because it is duo to some reasions. For example, some farms keep animal in small places. After some time some of animal become aged and then thay sale animals. In market people purchase their meat. Moreover, some animals may suffer from poor living conditions and stressful transportation. Farms onners killed with cruel. If thay use a proper way and focus on their transportation and also keep madical treatment on time then animals could be safe.Intensive farming focuses on producing more meat quickly rather than animal welfare. If farms focus on this cruel method then people try to eat meat.

On the other side, meat is very important for human health. It give as energy, protein and extra calories. Many farmers provide animals with proper food, shelter and medical care.People can reduce cruelty by choosing meat from farms with better welfare practices rather than completely avoiding meat.In some communities, meat is an important and traditional part of the diet.

Animal cruelty should be reduced and strict welfare standards should be followed. However, completely banning meat is unnecessary because responsible animal farming and ethical consumption can be alternatives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether meat consumption should be avoided due to animal cruelty. The writer presents a somewhat contradictory position, initially stating strong agreement before introducing counter-arguments and concluding that completely banning meat is unnecessary. While main ideas are present, such as discussing farming conditions and health benefits, they are often underdeveloped and repetitive, as seen when the text repeatedly touches upon cruel methods without fully extending the arguments. Furthermore, the response suffers from a penalisation because it falls short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 233 words as noted in the length check. Consequently, Task Achievement is constrained to a band 5.0 due to the under-length nature of the response and limited idea development.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is organized into paragraphs, attempting a traditional essay structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing phrasing, such as 'On the first side' and 'On the other side'. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes inaccurately, while pronoun referencing is frequently unclear, as seen in repetitive and ambiguous uses of 'thay' and 'animals'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs often breaks down, leading to a disjointed reading experience. These structural and cohesive weaknesses place the response firmly in the band 5.0 range.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and heavily impacted by spelling and word-choice errors. Examples of lexical limitations include 'animals meat', 'consuming ratio', 'Farms onners', and 'madical treatment'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'intensive farming' and 'welfare practices', but these attempts are marred by frequent inaccuracies in form and collocation (e.g., 'killed with cruel' instead of 'killed cruelly'). While the meaning can generally be discerned through context, the numerous errors in spelling and word formation restrict the lexical score to band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional sentences like 'If they use a proper way... then animals could be safe.' However, grammatical accuracy is very weak throughout the essay. There are frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'most people never like to enjoy', 'some of animal become aged', and 'It give as energy'. Punctuation and spelling errors, notably 'beacuse', 'thay', 'cantrol', 'duo', and 'reasions', are pervasive. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause strain for the reader, the grammar performance aligns with band 4.5.
