Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays increasing number of people are nurturing animals for eating meat and is considered as being cruel. However, it must be done appropriately and I partially agree with this notion. My inclination will be justified further.
The first reason behind people should not eat meat is that, many animals are assisting in ecological balance and it must be preserved for the environment. Secondly, people should take in to consideration the entire animal kingdom before cutting for personal consumption. For example many animals are pregnant and not even taking proper check and just directly having them killed for to fulfill their cravings of having meat. This ultimately leaving many young ones without their parents.
However, consumption of animals should not be fully eliminated as there are many people suffering from many life threatening diseases which requires meat for healing. For example when women delivers baby it is utmost important to retrive blood in the body and this only be refilled by red meats. Not only that, many individuals who suffers from paralysis, many doctors recommend having pigeon blood pasted on affected arreas can help to bring in movement. Many sufferers in india have witnessed this and help to overcome the problem of paralysis by 70 percent.
In conclusion, although cutting animals for personal consumption is cruel but for the medication and for some key purpose there must be no ban on having animals. I belive the balance approach must be followed and whenever there an emergency of getting animals cut for to save people lives then it must be allowed and where individual having meat just for own cravings must be controlled.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a partially agreed position on whether raising animals for meat is cruel and should be banned. The writer attempts to cover both the ethical concerns surrounding animal welfare and the medical necessity argument. However, some ideas remain under-developed or unclear. For instance, the argument about ecological balance is introduced in the second paragraph but lacks specific explanation or extension. Similarly, the specific medical claims regarding pigeon blood lack sufficient academic contextualisation to fully support the argument. The position is maintained throughout the essay and concludes with a clear summary, but deeper elaboration of the main points would be required to reach a higher level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at logical organisation, as it is divided into a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing opposing viewpoints, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'The first reason', 'Secondly', and 'However', which helps guide the reader through the text. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'This ultimately leaving many young ones'. To achieve the next level, the connections between sentences and paragraphs could be managed more smoothly, ensuring that transitions are entirely natural rather than formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common vocabulary items such as 'ecological balance', 'life threatening', and 'paralysis'. However, there are noticeable limitations in lexical control and word choice, along with some word-choice and word-form errors that occasionally affect precision, such as 'retrive blood in the body', 'refilled by red meats', and 'affected arreas'. Spelling and word-form inaccuracies are present, such as 'belive' and 'balance approach' instead of 'balanced approach'. These errors do not seriously impede overall communication, but they restrict the lexical score because precision and natural collocation are inconsistent throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that persist throughout the text. These include issues with verb forms and tenses, such as 'Nowadays increasing number of people are nurturing animals for eating meat and is considered', missing articles ('delivers baby', 'in india'), and prepositional errors ('flesh for to fulfill'). Furthermore, sentence structures are sometimes strained by faulty subordination, as seen in 'whenever there an emergency of getting animals cut for to save people lives'. While the meaning remains mostly clear to the reader, the density of grammatical errors prevents the writing from displaying the sustained error-free control required for a higher band.
