Student answer (Band 5.5)
Raising animal for using of meat is considered to be cruel, so it should not be consumed.I disagree upto large extent with this statement as it helps in economic development, and balancing in food chain but i cant not deny the cruelty of animals.
To begin with, animals are being raised for meat consumption at alarming rate all over the world.Due to this, countries make good business with each other to full fill the demand of meat.As a result, there economic growth is increase continously. For example, India export cow meat to other countries lilke Bangladesh,Australia etc. and raised revenue in nation's growth.
Moreover, meat is a good source of food chain, number of vitamins and minerals can be obtained from meat which are not available good enough in vegan diet. For instance, red meat is good source of vitamin b-12 however that can not be taken directly from any vegetable and fruits. So,if there is no meat option then there would be defeciency of nutrients in the body which can lead diseases.Therefor, consumption of meat in diet play vital role.
However, killing animals for meat consumption leads to cruelty becuse it is considered unethical. It is true fact to consider that animals have same emotions to live longer as humans.A survey has been conducted by Toronto sun newspaper recently, people who ate meat they were more aggressive than those who ate plant based food.
In conclusion, i disagree with this statement upto large extent than

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance of partial disagreement, acknowledging the cruelty while defending meat consumption based on economic development and nutritional benefits. However, the task is addressed only partially because the word count requirement is not met, falling short of the 250-word minimum at 239 words. Furthermore, while the ideas of economic growth and vitamins are introduced, they remain somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly in the conclusion which trails off abruptly with 'i disagree with this statement upto large extent than'. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to ensure the minimum word length is satisfied, provide more fully elaborated arguments with concrete examples rather than generalisations, and bring the essay to a complete and logical conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
There is a coherent overall arrangement to the essay, featuring an introduction, distinct body paragraphs addressing different aspects of the prompt, and a concluding attempt. Paragraphing is used to separate ideas, such as economic factors, nutritional benefits, and ethical considerations. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty, as seen in repetitive cohesive devices and abrupt transitions like 'To begin with,' and 'However,'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of a properly finished concluding sentence disrupts the overall logical progression of the text. To improve, the writer should employ a wider and more natural variety of transitional phrases and ensure every paragraph builds smoothly toward a fully resolved conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing enough range to discuss economic growth, nutrition, and ethical concerns. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'consumption', 'alarming rate', and 'deficiency', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and form, such as 'Raising animal for using of meat', 'full fill', 'there economic growth', and 'lilke'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'defeciency'. These lexical lapses do not completely impede communication, but they cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire and exercise greater accuracy in word formation, spelling, and contextual collocation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic complex forms that are often faulty. Frequent errors are present across various grammatical categories, including subject-verb agreement ('there economic growth is increase continously'), article usage ('export cow meat'), missing prepositions, and punctuation issues such as missing spaces after commas and uncapitalised pronouns like 'i'. Attempts at complex structures frequently result in grammatical slips, such as 'people who ate meat they were more aggressive'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to incorporate a wider variety of error-free complex sentence structures and improve fundamental control over grammar, punctuation, and tense consistency.
