Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, majority of the people are moving from vegaterian food to non-vegetarian food to fulfilll their daily protein and calorie intake. A group of individuals belives that people should not eat meat solely because they raise the animal and take care of them. I, firmly, agree with the given statment and my arguents will be discussed in the ensuing paragraphs.

To commence with, animals has been worshipped by the humans in some religion. They belive that they were used as mode of transporation by god. Therefore, consuming them will make them rebel agaist them and can create discripancy between humans. For example, Cow is being worshipped in indian religion, and when other religion people came to purchase just eat makes them furious and sometimes cause bigger problems.

In addition to that, some people only eat meat because they think it is the only way to fulfill their daily does of protein, which is completely wrong. Althogh it is rich in protein, there are plenty of products available in the maket which contains valuable nutritions required for human body. Moreover, they are available in diffferent forms which can be eaten at person's own convenience. To illustrate this, people who workout needs certain kilograms of protein everyday and there are variety of protein bars available in the market with different propotion and flavours.

In conclusion, people should not differentiate animals from themshelves and should take care of them and should consider other options to fulfill their basic nutritions like protein.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially and falls slightly short of the minimum length requirement, containing 247 words instead of the required 250. You adopt a clear position agreeing with the statement, but your supporting ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the argument regarding religious beliefs and cows is introduced with sweeping generalizations and lacks clear elaboration on why raising animals is cruel, which was the core premise of the prompt. Similarly, your alternative protein argument relies on vague examples like protein bars without fully connecting them back to the broader ethical debate of animal cruelty. To reach a higher level, you must ensure you explore all parts of the prompt in greater depth and extend your main arguments with fully realized explanations and relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure your ideas into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices to connect your points, such as 'To commence with', 'In addition to that', and 'In conclusion'. However, the progression between your ideas is sometimes mechanical, and referencing is not always completely clear, such as in the second paragraph where pronoun ambiguity ('consuming them will make them rebel agaist them') obscures the intended meaning. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate your arguments, but to achieve a higher band, you need to use a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices naturally and ensure smooth logical transitions between sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You display a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task. You attempt some less common items and topic-related words, such as 'consumption', 'convenience', and 'propotion', but these are accompanied by noticeable spelling errors ('vegaterian', 'fulfilll', 'belives', 'statment', 'arguents', 'agaist', 'discripancy', 'indian', 'Althogh', 'maket', 'nutritions', 'diffferent', 'propotion', 'themshelves') and word choice inaccuracies that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. For example, writing 'valuable nutritions' instead of 'nutrients' or 'nutrition' affects precision. To improve this criterion, you need to broaden your vocabulary range, use less common lexical items with greater stylistic awareness, and carefully proofread your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing uses a limited range of structures, featuring a mix of simple sentences and a few attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, articles, and plurals, such as 'majority of the people are', 'animals has been worshipped', 'other religion people', and 'people who workout needs'. Additionally, punctuation and prepositional patterns within your sentences show recurring inaccuracies, like 'in indian religion' instead of 'in Hinduism' or 'in Indian culture'. While your meaning can generally be understood, these frequent errors cause strain for the reader. To progress, you should focus on mastering basic agreement rules, expanding your repertoire of error-free complex sentence structures, and refining your grammatical accuracy.
