Student answer (Band 5.0)

People should never consume meat because farming animals for them is cruelty. I completely agree with this statement as this leads exitinsion of animals and health issues that comes from animals spcifically red meats.

Firstly, humun appetite is not desigen to digest meat and if they consume more will leads to shoratge of animals to produce more meats. As increase in production requirement of meat, people tend to cut more animals like duck, chiken, pigs and cows to meet the satisfaction for more population of humans who are depends on meat. For example, in US Macdonald company use 100 tons meat everyday and demands its still increasing, which leads to shoratges of the meat for meals. Moreover, this is also cruality towards animal as they also have their lives and emotions and also their are important part of ecosystem of earth.

Secondly, there are certain health issues that humun may face becuse of animals may have rare diseases that enters into body in humuns. Red meats are most consumed meat like of pigs, lions has servel infected bactria that has no cure if entres in humun body, so doctor specifically sugest to avoid red meat has associated with rare health issues like heart disease. For instance, there are continous dealth found in UK moslty got uncertain heart attack in younger age because of red meat consumption. Therefore, meat consumption is not good for humuns,

In conclusion, humun should never eat meats because it leads extinction of animals from earth and their are also important part for the ecosytem. And also, red meat has several health desease that leads to the death of human.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the main prompt by taking a clear, albeit extreme, position in total agreement with the statement. The ideas presented are relevant to the topic, focusing on animal welfare, ecosystem disruption, and health concerns associated with red meat consumption. However, these ideas are only partially developed and some are unsupported or unclear. For instance, the claim that human anatomy is unsuited for meat digestion is underdeveloped, and the example regarding a specific fast-food chain and meat consumption lacks factual precision. Furthermore, the reasoning tends to over-generalise, such as stating that red meats like those from 'lions' are commonly consumed and cause incurable infections. While the main parts of the task are touched upon, the lack of fully elaborated arguments and support keeps the response at this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the writing into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Information and ideas are generally presented in a logical sequence, moving from ethical and environmental concerns in the first body paragraph to health implications in the second. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to separate distinct points. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes faulty or mechanical. The writer relies heavily on basic transition markers like 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion,' and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'demands its still increasing' and 'as they also have their lives.' This mechanical handling of cohesive devices and occasional lapses in logical progression prevent the essay from reaching a higher level.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'extinction,' 'ecosystem,' and 'consumption,' but these attempts are frequently marred by significant spelling and word-choice errors, including 'exitinsion,' 'humun,' 'desigen,' 'shoratge,' 'chiken,' 'cruality,' and 'desease.' Additionally, there are awkward collocations and imprecise terms, such as claiming that 'lions' are consumed as red meat and referring to bacteria as having 'no cure if entres in humun body.' These noticeable errors and misspellings impede communication in places and reflect a restricted lexical control that strains the reader at times.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional-style constructions. However, the grammatical control is weak, with a limited range of successfully executed structures and frequent errors. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'demands its still increasing' and 'red meat has associated with,' as well as errors in articles, plurals, and verb forms like 'people who are depends' and 'doctor specifically sugest.' Punctuation is also basic and occasionally problematic, leading to run-on sentences. While simple sentences are generally understandable, attempts at more complex structures frequently result in faulty grammar that causes some difficulty for the reader.
