To begin with, every life plays an important role. For example, there are other food derivatives that give equal amount of vitamins and minerals as meat and one should grow vegetables and fruits and to obtain that source. It is very cruel to raise animals just for the purpose of killing. Secondly, it might affect some religious. For instance, there are many parts of the world where cows are worship. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear stance that eating meat is cruel and supporting it with arguments regarding ethics, religion, and the ecosystem. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, the point about religious beliefs regarding cows is introduced with a relevant example, but the claim that it affects the relationship between people is left under-developed and lacks extension. To move to a higher level, each main body paragraph needs to explore its central argument more deeply, offering fully fleshed-out examples rather than brief statements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the use of paragraphing is generally appropriate for separating distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' are employed to signpost the structure of the writing, though at times the referencing and transitions feel a bit mechanical. For instance, the transition between sentences in the second paragraph can be slightly abrupt. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to ensure that cohesive devices connect ideas more smoothly and that referencing is consistently clear throughout the entire response.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and phrases such as 'human consumption', 'derivatives', and 'ecosystem'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form that reflect limitations in lexical control. For example, the phrase 'affect some religious' contains a grammatical word-class error, and 'diverse effects' is used instead of 'adverse effects'. Furthermore, spelling and phrasing could be polished. To reach a higher score, the vocabulary must be used with greater precision and fewer inaccuracies in word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as concessive clauses ('Even though...') and subordinate clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Issues include problems with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'cows are worship' instead of 'cows are worshipped' and 'create the difference between the people who consume cows and who doesn't'. Punctuation errors, such as unnecessary spaces before commas, also occur. To improve, the writer must exercise better control over grammatical structures and reduce errors.
