Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a recognisable position: despite acknowledging that animal treatment can be cruel, you say, “I am agree to eat meat” and later argue that eating meat can be acceptable if animals are treated humanely. However, the response only minimally develops the task. The reasons are brief and sometimes conflict: you say people can obtain nutrients from other foods, but also that meat is important for a healthy body, without explaining how these points support your position. The example about animals kept in dirty places is relevant but not developed. The response is 47 words below the required minimum, which further limits the explanation and support. Develop one clear position and explain each reason with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The headings “INTRODUCTION,” “AGREE,” “DISAGREE,” and “REASON” show an attempt to group ideas, and the response does return to the central issue of meat consumption. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the headings do not create a clear argument, and the position shifts between agreeing and disagreeing before settling on support for eating meat. Connections such as “although,” “because,” and “so” are attempted, but their relationships are sometimes unclear. For example, the link between “some fruits” and the claim that meat is acceptable is not explained. Organise the response into a clear introduction, developed body paragraphs, and a conclusion, using linking phrases to show how each reason supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “nutrients,” “treated,” “suffer,” and “cruel,” so the reader can identify the main subject and some of your ideas. There are also attempts to express distinctions, such as animals being treated humanely and people obtaining nutrients from other foods. However, the vocabulary is repetitive and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts difficult to understand, including “rising animals,” “properly leave and block,” and “wrong with herself.” Frequent spelling errors such as “importanat,” “protien,” and “necessery” also reduce clarity. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling; choose expressions that clearly describe animal farming and alternatives to meat.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional idea in “eating meat can be good if the animal raising and treated humanly.” This shows an effort to express a condition and give reasons. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, which sometimes obscures meaning. For example, “a balance diet can included” has problems with the article, verb form, and sentence construction, while “because its wrong with herself” does not form a clear grammatical clause. There are also inconsistent sentence boundaries and punctuation, such as the run-on opening after “First of all.” Practise building complete subject–verb sentences, then join them with accurate conjunctions; proofread verb forms, articles, and punctuation.
