Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you recognise concerns about animal treatment but argue that eliminating meat entirely is impractical. You address both sides with relevant points about environmental effects, animal health, cultural traditions, and nutrition. However, the response does not fully engage with the central claim that raising animals for food is cruel: the discussion shifts at times to wildlife loss and disease, which are not clearly connected to cruelty in livestock farming. Some points, such as the claim that meat supports physical and mental wellbeing, are asserted rather than explained or illustrated. To strengthen the response, focus more directly on animal welfare and develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to arguments against meat consumption, then arguments for continuing it, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader follow this progression, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” make the stages visible. However, some links are mechanical or do not show the precise relationship between ideas. For example, “Moreover, stocking of creatures for earning profits” is a fragment rather than a developed continuation, and the connection between livestock and “vanishing of creatures” is unclear. Use complete topic sentences and make each supporting sentence explicitly explain or exemplify the point before moving to the next one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “livestock,” “eco system,” “tradition and culture,” and “physically demanding task,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also some inaccurate or unnatural choices that make parts of the argument less precise, such as “quiet common” for “quite common,” “starvation” where “hunger” or “dietary needs” is intended, and “stocking of creatures.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “heath” and “effect” used where “affect” is needed, also reduce control. Aim for accurate collocations rather than more elaborate wording: for example, describe “intensive livestock farming” and “animal welfare,” and use “a balanced diet” when discussing nutrition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although, I believe…” and a conditional sentence beginning “if they are not including meat…”. Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “It is undeniable fact” (missing an article), “there is need” (missing an article), “fully elimination” (incorrect form), and “animal heath is not considering” (faulty verb construction). Several sentences also lack a complete grammatical structure, notably “Moreover, stocking of creatures for earning profits.” Check articles, subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and sentence completeness, and punctuate introductory clauses carefully.
