Student answer (Band 4.5)

It is sometimes argued that individuals should not consume meat due to the fact raising animals for self consumption is harsh. I completely agree with this statement.

One reason why I oppose this idea is that the main reason behind feoticide of animals is due to the consumption of human's protein intake. This is because almost all the gym-lovers tend to take non-vegertarian as a meal after their workoutsession. Apart from that, people have this tendancy in their mind that eating meat will help them gain more rather than being vegan. Nutrionist, for example, tends to make the chart for the customers who doesn't want to eat meat. Also, as per the survey people are turning vegan which they are finiding very significant for their health benefits.

Furthermore, I beleive that killing someone for our own benefit is not a appropriate reason to gain health. Every one has alternative for everything and it is not mandatory that consumption of animals will only help in improving helath. In this way, the animals can be secured and live freely without creating damage to the environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”), and the final paragraph returns to the idea that animals should not be killed for human benefit. However, the response only minimally develops the question of whether people should never eat meat because animal farming is cruel. Much of the first body paragraph discusses protein, gym-goers, and vegan health benefits, rather than explaining the cruelty involved or directly supporting your agreement. The point about alternatives is relevant but remains general and is not illustrated with a specific example. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words, which limits how fully you can explain and support your ideas. Develop two relevant reasons and explain each with evidence or an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a concluding idea. Linking phrases such as “One reason,” “Apart from that,” and “Furthermore” help signal movement between points. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the first body paragraph shifts from animal consumption to gym diets, then to nutritionists and a survey, without showing clearly how these points support your position about cruelty. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the transition from people turning vegan to the claim that this is significant for health. Build each paragraph around one central reason, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence. A more explicit concluding sentence would also help bring the argument together.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “consumption,” “alternative,” “vegan,” and “environment,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “feoticide,” “non-vegertarian,” “tendancy,” and “finiding.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “gain more” does not specify what people gain, while “make the chart for the customers” is unclear in this context. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for animal treatment and food choices would help you express the argument clearly without relying on broad or confusing phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example, “This is because…” and “Every one has alternative for everything and it is not mandatory that…”. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. In “raising animals for self consumption is harsh,” the clause needs clearer grammatical framing; “people have this tendancy in their mind” also has an awkward construction. There are problems with articles and agreement in “a appropriate reason” and “customers who doesn't want,” as well as sentence punctuation and spacing in “workoutsession.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and check articles, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation before submitting.
