Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely disagree with the view that people should stop eating meat, and you return to this position in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including nutrients from meat and the economic contribution of restaurants and taxes. The nutrition point is supported with examples such as chicken breast and fish, which helps address the task. However, the response focuses mainly on health and business rather than directly examining the claim that raising animals is cruel. The economic paragraph is also less fully explained: the number of restaurants and taxes do not, by themselves, show why eating meat should continue. Address animal welfare directly and develop each reason with clearer explanation and evidence to strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from personal nutrition to the wider economic argument, and signposts such as “Furthermore” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “I think,” “because,” and “therefore.” The first body paragraph also contains several ideas in a long sequence, making the relationship between exercise, diet plans and meat less clear. In the final paragraph, the conclusion repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer topic sentences, divide explanations into manageable sentences, and make references such as “these reasons” precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “essential nutrients,” “protein,” “Omega 3 fatty acid,” “non-vegetarian meals,” and “taxes.” These choices make the subject understandable and show an attempt to discuss both nutrition and the economy. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts awkward, such as “for our craving,” “persons… property,” and “franchises are survive.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “agrue,” “examplify,” and “resaons,” are also noticeable. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully; for example, describe meat as a “source of nutrients” and businesses as “depend on meat sales” rather than relying on unclear phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the main message is usually understandable. For instance, the sentence explaining that chicken breast provides protein and fish provides omega-3 gives relevant information in a connected structure. However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms recur, as in “I am completely disagree,” “There are number of reasons why should eat meat,” and “franchizes are survive.” Agreement and articles also need attention, while some sentences join several clauses without clear punctuation. These problems sometimes make the reader work to identify the intended relationship between ideas. Practise accurate basic patterns first—such as “I completely disagree” and “There are a number of reasons why people should eat meat”—then build longer sentences with controlled clauses and punctuation.
