Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that raising farming animals for eating their flesh is a heartless action. There are many different views regarding this issue. Some people agree with this statement because eating meat is prohibit in their religion and others beleive that this is a main source of nourishment. Its vary person to person. From my perspective, I disagree from this statement.

There are many religions in the world. Some believe it is not good and some says it is good according to their followers. For instance, we are the followers of the Islam, so we eat meal after slaughting the animals. But not all animals meat are allowed in our religion, we eat only those animals who are herbivours.

On the other hand, many believe that eating flesh is a main source of protein. The meat is main source of fibre and energy. But there are some methods how to eat the meat. For example, some people eat raw meat but it is sometimes harmful for health because it can not digest properly. The cooked food is vital to get nourishment. Moreover, people get many benefits from the animals, like they use their milk, and skins. Milk is a grear source of calcium and it is very important for human body. The skin of animals is use to make purses, warm cloths and many other things.

In conlusion, this opinion vary on different aspects. Some people love animal and they thinks eating them is cruel but another people raising animal for earning money. There are many businessess related to cattle if this is a cruel action than no one doing this business.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a position—“I disagree”—and give reasons involving religious practice, nutrition, and other uses of animals. These points are relevant, but the response only partially answers the central question of whether people should never eat meat because animal farming is cruel. The discussion shifts toward whether meat is permitted in religion and whether animal products are useful, without explaining how these points address cruelty or why they justify your disagreement. The claim that animals provide milk and skins also needs a clearer link to the issue. To strengthen the response, explain what animal-raising practices you consider acceptable, address animal welfare directly, and develop one or two reasons with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and signposts such as “For instance,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help show the intended structure. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph focuses on religious rules, while the next moves among protein, fibre, raw meat, cooking, milk, and animal skins. Some links between these ideas and the main argument are missing. The conclusion introduces earning money and cattle businesses without developing that point earlier. Referencing is also sometimes unclear, as in “this opinion vary on different aspects.” Organise each paragraph around one reason, connect examples explicitly to your position, and make the conclusion summarise the argument already presented.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “source of nourishment,” “protein,” “calcium,” and “followers,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response difficult to interpret. For example, “raising farming animals” is awkward, “eat meal” does not express the intended meaning, and “main source of fibre” appears to confuse fibre with another nutritional benefit. Spelling errors such as “beleive,” “slaughting,” “herbivours,” and “conlusion” are noticeable. Build a more precise vocabulary for animal welfare and food production, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, distinguish “meat” from “meal” and use “livestock” or “farm animals” appropriately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “but,” and “if.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles, sometimes making the intended meaning harder to follow. Examples include “eating meat is prohibit,” “Its vary person to person,” “some says,” and “the skin of animals is use.” The final sentence, “if this is a cruel action than no one doing this business,” also has faulty clause structure and verb forms. Practise forming complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and tense, and review articles and plural forms. Breaking complex ideas into shorter, correctly structured sentences would improve clarity while you build control of more varied patterns.
