Student answer (Band 6.0)

People prefers to eat various kind of meat from different kinds of animals for their daily consumption. There are people who have the business to nurture animals only for human consumption. In order to maintain balance between people relying on vegetables and meat, I partially disagree with the statement. The reason to support my opinion will be articulated further in the essay.

Cruelty on animals due to any reason is unacceptable. Animal meat is a great source of protein and other necessary nutrients that an individual required to have for a balanced diet. There are many countries in the world where the weather conditions does not allow to grow vegetables and fruits. Hence, their first preference would be to rely on a meat or fish for the basic survival. For example, Northern provinces of Canada where even water is frozed in all three season and relying on vegetables for their diet is not possible, people are depend on frozen fish that is easily available from lakes and rivers.

Slaughtering animals for humans' food consumption should do with extreme restrictions. There are many people in the world consume meat from animals under wrong influence. It is because of the unethical advertisement from food business franchises about non-vegetarian food model. They advertise their menus by showing off meat based fastfoods and meal options that fullfills daily requirement of individual at a cheap rate. It encourages people to avoid eating vegetarian dishes

In conclusion, there are people who need to rely on meat due unavoidable goelocation of their country. While people need to stop affecting from irrelevant advertisement by food business which motivates such cruelty on animals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is stated as partial disagreement, and you give relevant reasons: meat can provide nutrients and may be important where growing produce is difficult, while animal cruelty should be restricted. The example of people in northern Canada relying on fish helps illustrate the first point. However, the response does not fully explain how this example answers the claim about the cruelty of raising animals, and the discussion of advertising shifts attention towards consumer choices rather than animal-rearing practices. The final paragraph also introduces a conclusion without clearly resolving how far you agree with the statement. Develop the ethical argument directly—for example, distinguish humane farming from cruel treatment—and explain how that distinction supports your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from the need for meat to restrictions on slaughter and advertising, and linking expressions such as “Hence,” “For example” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships. However, the connection between the second body paragraph and the question is not always clear, and the conclusion does not fully synthesise the arguments. Some transitions feel mechanical, while the final sentence beginning “While” is not clearly connected to a complete main clause. Improve progression by giving each body paragraph one focused claim, then linking its evidence explicitly to your position. Clearer references to “this practice” or “this argument” would also help readers follow the reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “balanced diet,” “protein,” “human consumption,” “unethical advertisement” and “restrictions.” These choices show an attempt to discuss nutrition, farming and consumer influence. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “nurture animals” is not the usual phrase for raising livestock, “frozen in all three season” is unclear, and “non-vegetarian food model” does not express the intended idea naturally. There are also spelling or word-form slips such as “fullfills” and “goelocation.” Aim for accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling; this will make your argument sound more fluent without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional-style explanation beginning “In order to.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “People prefers” has subject–verb disagreement, “the weather conditions does not allow” has the same issue, and “people are depend” uses an incorrect verb form. Articles and plurals also need attention in phrases such as “rely on a meat” and “in all three season.” The final sentence beginning “While people need to stop…” is an incomplete construction. Practise checking agreement, verb patterns and sentence completeness, especially in longer sentences, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
