Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is strongly argued that animals should not be eaten by humans as their food. It has various negative effects and shows cruelty toward animals. People consume them due to presence of proteins even they are getting extinct. This essay will demonstrate both the views in the following paragraphs, along with my personal opinion.
To initiate with, the reasons why individuals should never eat meat. The first and foremost reason is that animals have the right to live their life. They have families as similar to human beings. Moreover, they consume plants for their growth. Moreover, they have feelings, emotions, love towards their offspring. Animals also get depressed when people kill their partners or babies for their food. Furthermore, number of extinct species increased due to high consumption of meat in cold regions. Consequently, it harms the ecosystem. For instance, population living near the water reserves rely on sea food, which has a negative effect on the market, economy of the world. As selling fishes, turtles and other creatures from oceans are the sources of income for some of the people.
Moving towards why raising animals for human consumption is not considered cruelty. The main point is that animals contain high amount of proteins, fibres and vitamins. It definitely makes a person mentally and physically healthy. However, excess consumption may lead to some health-related problems. Therefore, it is better to eat meat in sufficient amount. Additionally, some doctors recommend parents to add meat in the diet of their children for proper growth. To exemplify, it is mentioned in a report conducted by journalist of Australia that the majority of population is consuming meat as a medicine.
To conclude, both views have merits and demerits. However, I firmly believe that people should eat meat in a limited amount which is necessary for their body. As high amount of consumption cause extinction of some species and health problems to humans.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses the question and gives a clear final position: you believe meat should be eaten in limited amounts. You also present reasons on both sides, including animal suffering and the nutritional value of meat. However, the opening promises to discuss “both the views” without clearly stating your own position, and the body’s second viewpoint shifts from whether raising animals is cruel to whether meat is healthy. Some support is also unclear: the claim about extinction in cold regions and the example involving seafood, markets, and the world economy do not clearly show how they support your argument. Develop the animal-welfare argument and connect each example directly to your position for a fuller response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can follow its broad progression from reasons against eating meat to reasons for consuming it. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “To conclude” help signal movement between points. However, several transitions feel mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is sometimes unclear. For example, the seafood example moves from ecosystem harm to people’s income without explaining the connection, while “Moving towards why raising animals…is not considered cruelty” introduces a health argument rather than directly addressing cruelty. Use clearer topic sentences and explain how each supporting point relates to the paragraph’s main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “ecosystem,” “extinct species,” “consumption,” and “health-related problems,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “I firmly believe.” However, some word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, including “animals should not be eaten by humans as their food,” “families as similar to human beings,” and “consuming meat as a medicine.” Repetition of “Moreover” and general terms such as “things” or “people” would also limit precision where used. Aim for natural combinations such as “eat meat,” “similar to humans,” and “a source of nutrients,” and choose vocabulary that accurately expresses the intended relationship.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “which,” and most of the message remains understandable. Some sentences are controlled, such as “However, excess consumption may lead to some health-related problems.” There are nevertheless some errors in sentence construction and agreement. “To initiate with, the reasons why individuals should never eat meat” is a fragment, while “As selling fishes, turtles and other creatures…” is also incomplete. In “high amount of consumption cause,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “animals have the right to live their life” has a number mismatch. Check that every sentence has a complete main clause, and review agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms.
