Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, public is concerning about animals So, they think that eating meat is unfair. I partially agree with this notion. In the upcoming parts of writing I will share reasons behind my point of view.
To commence with, I agree that eating animals for our purpose sounds cruel because they also have freedom to live their own life. To elaborate this, we separate them from their families. Moreover, when we raise an animal it also starts feeling connected with us. They think themselves safe with us but after that we kill them for our taste. For instance, In Indore there is a factory where small chickens are grinded by workers to make chicken nuggets from them which is very disappointing for us that we eat small chickens.
Secondly, it also become important for humans to consume animals because of some health related issues. To justify this animals bone marrow is used in so many medicines. Apart from this they are good source of protein because vegetarian meals do not contain much nutrients. Also fish oil is proved to be very helpful if someone is suffering from heart disease. For some people eating animals become a basic diet for healthy life and it is a part of food chain. To examplify this if humans stop consuming eggs the population of animals increase rapidly which impact food cycle of nature. So that is why many persons eat animals.
In conclusion, my opinion is that eating animals for health related issue is fine as they are good source of protein and have so many nutrients. But we should avoid consuming them for our taste.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you partially agree, accepting that animal treatment can be cruel while arguing that meat and animal products may have health benefits. You address both sides and give examples, such as separating animals from their families and using bone marrow or fish oil. However, some support is unclear or insufficiently explained. The claim that vegetarian meals “do not contain much nutrients” is broad, and the link between stopping egg consumption and animal populations increasing does not clearly support your argument about eating meat. Develop these points with more precise reasoning and make sure each example directly answers whether people should never eat meat. A more balanced explanation of alternatives and animal welfare would strengthen your response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting opposing considerations, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, some connections are mechanical, and the second body paragraph moves quickly from nutrition to medicines, fish oil, and the food chain without showing how these points relate to one another. References such as “they” can also be unclear because they may refer to animals, foods, or people. Group related reasons together and use clearer links between claims and examples. This would make the progression more consistent and cohesion less dependent on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “freedom,” “bone marrow,” “protein,” and “food chain,” and your meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “To justify this” and “health related issues.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “public is concerning,” “grinded,” and “good source of protein.” Some expressions are vague or repetitive, particularly “for our purpose” and repeated references to “animals.” Choose more precise topic vocabulary and check common word partnerships; for example, describe public concern, say animals are “slaughtered” or “processed,” and specify whether you mean meat, eggs, or animal products. More accurate phrasing would make your argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “when,” and “if,” and most of your ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors occur in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “it also become important” needs a correctly formed verb, while “they are good source” requires an article or plural form. In “vegetarian meals do not contain much nutrients,” the quantifier does not agree with the countable noun. The opening also joins sentences awkwardly after “animals” with an unnecessary capitalised “So.” Review subject–verb agreement, articles, countable and uncountable nouns, and punctuation between independent clauses. Greater control of these patterns would make your varied sentence forms more accurate.
