Student answer (Band 6.0)

The significance of choosing the school education for children was always debatable has now become controversial as numerous people claiming that the physical education classes are crucial for the better growth of children while other believe that academics is important for bright future.

On the one hand, one of the chief benefits of the physical education is the fitness of children because if the children are mentally fit they can concentrate on the all the subjects. Another point that can be added in its support is the physical health. To elaborate, if children are fit physically and mentally then they can achieve highest grade in exams and make their life happier.

On the flip side, the predominant fact about why people are consider that academic classes are important is the base of children. To justified, in the early age if children have strong base of study then they can easily understand the higher level education or advance subjects in future. Such as in the technical field they require clear basic of coding for advance programming. Furthermore, they believe that academic study helps the children to make their future bright in short time.

In my opinion, the above mentioned points described that why masses believe that physical education crucial or academics in the school time. However, I think that health is more important to live a happy life. instead of academic.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. The ideas are relevant but remain somewhat superficial; for instance, the argument for physical education is repetitive, focusing on 'fitness' twice without exploring broader benefits like social skills or stress relief. The conclusion is also quite brief and lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure your position is more clearly integrated throughout the essay rather than just stated at the end.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the flip side', and 'Furthermore'. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are awkward, such as 'To justified' or 'the above mentioned points described that why'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use basic terms like 'bright future' and 'happy life' repeatedly. There are also errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'choosing the school education' instead of 'the choice of school curriculum' and 'make their life happier' instead of 'improve their quality of life'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. Focus on using words that accurately reflect the context of educational policy rather than relying on general-purpose language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'numerous people claiming' (should be 'claim'), 'people are consider' (should be 'consider'), and 'clear basic of coding' (should be 'clear basics'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. You should work on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and plural forms to ensure your writing is more accurate and professional.
