Student answer (Band 6.5)
Whether physical education should be taught in schools or not has been a debatable issue among the society. Although academic subjects are crucial for student's overall development, physical eduction cannot be overlooked. I will elaborate my ideas and give opinion in the further paragraphs.
On the one hand, physical eduction can be taught in schools efficiently because teachers can put good impression on students to be fit physically and can train them with appropriate knowledge. For instance, children have the ability to adapt things immediately while their tutors teach them by theorically and practically. If the physical eduction courses are compulsory, students will take it seriously and they would have the option of denying. Consequently, Kids would be able to make themselves healt from the childhood because physical
education course will teach all the facts such as nutritional values of food, yoga and exercises.
On the other hand, academic study is more beneficial rather than physical education. Since the competition is increasing day by day it is hard for children to get success in their interested fields and they have to put all the efforts to achieve good scores in their academic studies. Extra subjects can distract them to focus on their fields. for example, if children are more focused in science, computer or in maths, they will not get enough time to hard work if they also have to study optional subjects such as physical education.
In my opinion, However, academic courses are more important but physical education also a beneficial chapter to consider.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing an opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding academic pressure is a bit repetitive, and the conclusion is underdeveloped, failing to fully synthesize the two viewpoints. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly explored with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The response meets the minimum length requirement, but the depth of content remains at a Band 6 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Consequently' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted, such as the abrupt ending of the second paragraph. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be smoother to achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'nutritional values' and 'debatable issue.' However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'eduction' instead of 'education', 'theorically' instead of 'theoretically', 'healt' instead of 'healthy') and minor word choice issues (e.g., 'put good impression' instead of 'make a good impression'). These errors do not impede communication but prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'theorically and practically' (adverb usage), 'make themselves healt' (word form), and 'academic study is more beneficial rather than' (incorrect comparative structure). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly in the final paragraph. The frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of sentence construction to move into the Band 6+ range.
