Student answer (Band 6.5)

In this modern era , some people are focusing on physical education rather than academics during school time However, physical and academic both are equally important for child i will discuss both of these view in this essay and give my opinion.

First and Foremost thing is education is most significant factor in child life during school time their grades decides their destiny what they will actually become in their life , let me be clear with the example, university education considered as the top level of studies to get admission in to university student needs at least 95% with the help of their grades they will able to study in huge university and after completing university studies their future will be secure on the top of that whoever they studied in business or science or arts they make their career into it .

On the other hand some group of people believes that physical classes are important than academics some how , I feel that that is also a valid reason to argue because not everyone is smart enough to study well and able to get high grades to get admission into reputative universities for them some universities have sports quotas which means that a students they can get admission in that if they have good qualifications of sports such as any kind of sports like Basketball , Cricket , Boxing , Hockey and up to may more with the help of it they can get admission in to universities .

In conclusion , I would like to say that education and sports both are plays the important role in students life it depends on them in which part they are good at if they want to be succeed they can be in any part

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed both sides of the argument and provided a personal opinion, which satisfies the task requirements. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, your explanation of why academics are important relies on a single, slightly repetitive example about university admissions. Similarly, the argument for physical education is underdeveloped and focuses almost exclusively on sports quotas. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your points with more nuanced reasoning, such as the cognitive benefits of exercise or the importance of holistic development, rather than focusing primarily on university entry requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. For example, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt, and the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. You rely heavily on simple conjunctions and lack a variety of linking words to show logical relationships between ideas. Improving the use of transition signals (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would significantly enhance the flow and logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'get admission into' and 'important', which limits the sophistication of your response. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'reputative universities' (should be 'reputable') and 'whoever they studied' (should be 'whatever they study'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to education and physical development, and focus on using more precise synonyms to avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an ability to construct sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of your writing. Issues include missing articles ('in child life'), subject-verb agreement errors ('education and sports both are plays'), and run-on sentences or comma splices. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and pay closer attention to punctuation, particularly the use of full stops to separate distinct ideas rather than relying on commas.
