Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. You have identified both sides of the argument and stated a position, but the essay is incomplete; the second paragraph is cut off mid-sentence, and there is no conclusion. Because the task is not fully addressed due to the lack of development and the unfinished nature of the response, it falls into the lower band range. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full, balanced discussion for both viewpoints and a clear, supported opinion, while meeting the minimum word count to allow for sufficient depth.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay shows a basic attempt at paragraphing, but the lack of completion makes it difficult to assess the overall logical progression. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'On the other hand', which helps the reader follow the intended structure. However, because the text ends abruptly, the flow is interrupted. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts within each paragraph and using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and sufficient supporting evidence before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'curriculum' and 'academics', but there are errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'boday' instead of 'body' and 'children education' instead of 'children's education'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and ensure you proofread for spelling errors. Expanding your vocabulary through reading academic texts will help you use words more naturally and accurately in your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'those people who are in favour of physical education has more benefits' contains a subject-verb agreement error, and 'academic are more relevant' is grammatically incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and pluralization. Practice writing complete, error-free sentences before attempting more complex grammatical structures, and pay close attention to your use of articles and prepositions.
