Student answer (Band 6.5)

Education plays pivotal role in the development of child. Certain individuals opine that physical education lessons are indispensable part of child education. While, other concerned school should give more priority to academics. In my opinion, academic study plays immense role in the progression of child but the benefits of physical education can not be oversight.

The primary reason people in the favour of academic education is that it enchances the career prospect of child. when students involves in the practical as well as theorical lessons of different subjects, then they became master in the skills of that particular subjects since, most of professions such as doctors, engineers, lawyers and many more. require extensive understanding of the subjects. If they do not have the skills & knowledge of subject then they cannot perform perfectly. Therefore, focusing on academic education is significantly effect on child sucess and development.

On the other hand, who think school should prioritise the physical education as part of school curriculum since, children spent most of time of day at school. After studies, they do not get sufficient time to perform physical activities. According to them, they do not engage in any outdoor activities when they come back home after study. They glued with phone screens instead of performing physical activity. Consequently, they suffer from several diseases such as obesity, overweight and mental stress. If school include physical education as part of extra curriculem activities which can not oney prove their physical health but also mental health too.

In my opinion, academic education should be first priority as recruiter always seek those candidates who have a standarized skills and qualification. So that, they can perform efficienley without any challenge. However, school should incorporate physical lesson. Since, mostly students living a sedentary lifestyle without involving in any physical activity. Thus, school include certain lesson of physical classes along with academic study to improve the overall health of children.

In conclusion, Although academic lesson escalating the career opportunities as well as professional growth, physical study enchances the physical and mental health of child which is extremely crucial to perform any kind of work.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the link between academic success and career prospects, and the health benefits of physical education. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the third and fourth paragraphs where the focus on sedentary lifestyles is restated. To reach a higher band, the arguments could be more nuanced, perhaps by discussing how physical education can actually complement academic performance rather than just acting as a separate health measure. The position is consistent throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The primary reason', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'While, other concerned school should give more priority'. Additionally, there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'they' without a clear antecedent in the second paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with attempts at using topic-specific terms like 'sedentary lifestyle', 'curriculum', and 'professional growth'. However, there are several errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'can not be oversight' (should be 'overlooked'), 'theoritical lessons', and 'standarized skills'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'escalating' instead of 'enhancing' or 'improving'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision in word choice prevents the essay from reaching a higher band in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('children spent', 'students involves', 'they became master'), missing articles ('development of child'), and awkward phrasing ('If school include physical education as part of extra curriculem activities which can not oney prove...'). These errors are noticeable and occur frequently, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct conjunctions and verb forms.
