Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's rapidly evolving world, the issue of education become a matter of considerable public interest. While some people firmly believe that Physical education is more crucial, other argue that children should have to concentrate on academics in school time. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own opinion.
On the one hand, those who support sports education argue that it is necessary to learn about fitness education. Nowadays, due to different lifestyle people should have to gain knowledge about physical training. One common justification for this belief is junk food. People consume more junk food these days because of this lifestyle they challenges several health complications such as obesity, bad cholesterol and so on. Physical education can provide them guidance how to stay fit. For example, Schools provide gymnastic classes to their students, which shows this viewpoint is widely accepted.
On the other side, opponents believe that scholars is more imperative. They point out academics helps children's to gain significant knowledge about history, science and mathematics. By Educational achievements they can build their career and fulfil dream jobs. A clear example of this is to become Doctor or Engineer, students have to studies hard to clear their examinations. So it is clear that academics plays vital role during school time.
In conclusion, although both views have their merits, I believe that focus on academics have more benefits as compared to physical fitness. This is because children can choose extra classes for physical fitness in the schools. Academics help in career growth, making it a more convincing approach overall.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the link between physical education and health, and the importance of academics for career prospects. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for physical education could be more deeply explored beyond just mentioning obesity. The position is consistent throughout, but the supporting arguments could benefit from more specific, nuanced examples to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of analysis is basic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other side', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear or repetitive. The flow is generally smooth, but the use of cohesive devices could be more varied and sophisticated to improve the overall cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There are some attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'imperative', 'convincing', and 'evolving'. However, there are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'scholars is more imperative' (should be 'academic study') and 'they challenges several health complications' (should be 'they face'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the range and precision of the vocabulary, keeping the score in the mid-range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'education become', 'academics plays') and pluralization (e.g., 'children's to gain', 'students have to studies'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors throughout. The errors are noticeable and occur frequently, though they rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning. To improve, the writer should focus on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement.
