Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's fast paced society, individuals hold diverse opinions on a wide range of topics. Regarding the issue that physical education classes are vital for a child' education or just focus on the academics during school time have different opinions. In my opinion, it is important to analyze the both sides of the argument before forming a well-rounded opinion.
To begin with, focusing on physical education subject will lead to the vital merits of the body to learners. In other words, students' health strength will improve with exercise lessons in schools for both strong body and good mental health. For instance, when their bodies are worked out, the chemical elements in their bodies will be operated, which affects mental health such as happiness aspect which is a stressful reduction caused by overload studying.
Besides this, attention to general academics subjects is essential also, which are good for children's future. Some parents say that educational materials will establish wealth, stability and high salary rate for them. To exemplify this, when they grow up to the appropriate period for college admission all mandatory subjects must be provided for the national examination. Moreover, all top-ranking universities in this world still have measured students ability by GPA.
In conclusion, I would like to restate that both points have their own benefits. In my point of view although physical education is necessary for well-being but academics classes are essential for graduation and the occupation process also. Therefore, if individuals are able to balance both matters efficiently then they will be high quality persons.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how physical education affects mental health is vague, using phrases like 'chemical elements in their bodies will be operated' which lacks clarity and logical depth. Similarly, the argument for academics is somewhat repetitive, focusing heavily on 'high salary' and 'GPA' without exploring the broader cognitive or societal benefits of academic rigor. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, well-reasoned examples and ensure that your arguments are fully extended rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Besides this', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, some of the linking is mechanical, and the flow within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the transition between the health benefits and the mental health aspect. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression could be improved by ensuring that each sentence builds more naturally upon the previous one rather than simply listing points.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are several instances of unnatural collocations or word choices, such as 'health strength', 'stressful reduction', and 'occupation process'. While you attempt to use some academic vocabulary like 'well-rounded' and 'mandatory', the overall range is somewhat limited. To improve, focus on learning collocations—for example, instead of 'stressful reduction', use 'stress reduction' or 'alleviation of stress'. Expanding your range of synonyms and using more precise terminology will significantly enhance your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors that hinder clarity, such as 'Regarding the issue that physical education classes are vital... have different opinions', which is a fragmented sentence structure. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'the both sides', 'measured students ability'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed correctly.
