Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on academics relies on general statements about 'science, history, maths' without exploring the long-term benefits or the specific context of the debate in sufficient depth. The arguments are relevant but remain at a surface level. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or logical consequences, ensuring that the 'why' behind your opinion is fully articulated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'firstly', 'secondly', and 'furthermore' to link ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Looking at the other people's analogy'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'it' in the conclusion, which lacks a precise antecedent. Improving the variety and sophistication of your linking words would enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'imperative', 'fascinated', and 'development'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'getting involve into', 'main base for the children foundation', and 'working in a different sectors technology'. These errors occasionally make the text feel less natural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations (e.g., 'academic foundation' rather than 'main base for foundation') and ensure you are using the correct word forms in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('if children gets', 'it can helps') and article usage. Some sentences are also fragmented or run-on, such as 'For instance, playing any kind of sports like football, vollyball, etc. They perhaps finds those sports interesting'. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic agreement rules and ensuring that your complex sentences are punctuated correctly.
