Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's era, people have different opinions regarding physical education as well as academics. But I would like to emphasize both topics, as these topics are equally important for the growth and development of a human mind or a kid.

To start with, I would like to address that physical education plays a vital part in the development of the human mind. For example, it teaches us how to keep ourselves fit and healthy as well as it also helps in our physical goals if we focus and dedicate proper time to physical education, it may lead to physical growth of the body.. Along with it, physical education teaches us lots of skills, like how to work in a team and leadership. which pays vital part in our day too day like as well as in our personal life. As a result of that physical health plays a very important part in the development of a kid's mind and personality.

Now let's talk about bookish knowledge/ Academics. it is also one of the main key factors in the development of the human mind as well as guiding a right path to begin with i would like to share that without academics, you can't learn how to talk in society and you do not have any knowledge. for example, to become a doctor, you need to be excellent in academics or you will examine your patient incorrectly. so, academics also play a vital role in a student's life.

To conclude my topic, I would like to say that both physical education as well as academics education are very important in student like to make a student strong enough to stand in the world and face all the difficulties in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding academics relies on a rather simplistic example about doctors, and the discussion of physical education lacks depth in terms of its long-term impact on student performance. While the task is addressed, the supporting points are not fully extended, and the reasoning remains quite general. To improve, you should provide more specific, nuanced examples and ensure that your arguments are logically connected to the prompt's core theme of balancing these two aspects of education.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'To start with' and 'To conclude my topic' are used, but the internal flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. For example, the transition between the benefits of physical education and the mention of teamwork is abrupt. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, which disrupts the logical progression of ideas. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms such as 'important', 'good', and 'vital', which are repeated frequently. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'bookish knowledge' and 'day too day', which sound unnatural. While the meaning is clear throughout the essay, the range of vocabulary is limited. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the English language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Issues include incorrect punctuation (e.g., 'leadership. which pays'), subject-verb agreement errors, and run-on sentences. For example, the phrase 'if we focus and dedicate proper time to physical education, it may lead to physical growth of the body..' contains unnecessary punctuation and lacks a clear connection to the preceding clause. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of complex sentence construction.
