Student answer (Band 5.5)

Education plays a key role in our day-to-day life, whether it is Academics or Sports. Some argue that physical education is an important part of a child's life, while others strongly believe that academics can only help a child to become a great individual. In my perspective, both academics and physical activity bring out a better person from a child.

According to latest probes children who play sports are better

at academics as well. Children who have physical education in their schools they are mentally strong. and they can take any pressure. If you look at the great athealets like Bolt who has high school education and became great champion around the world. Sports not only teaches the games it also teaches disiplane and Punctuality.

Despite the sports, academics can bring great knowledge to the children. Academics helps to think in a creative and helps to brings out a great individual from it. Academics not only teaches educations it transform the child future wheather to become a great engineer or Doctor what evere they want to become and it helps to know more about any information across the world.

In Conclusion, the issue of physical education and academic education has strong arguments on both sides. However, from my standpoint sports can help the children to take any pressure and in any situation they can comeout with a great outcome. so sports should bemade mandatory

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of development. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped; for instance, the example of 'Bolt' is vague and lacks a clear connection to the broader argument about physical education. The conclusion is present but brief. To improve, you should expand on your supporting points with more detailed explanations and specific, well-integrated examples to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as the phrase 'Despite the sports' at the start of the third paragraph, which does not logically introduce the point about academics. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas could be smoother. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases more naturally to connect sentences and paragraphs, ensuring that the flow of logic is seamless throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'athealets', 'disiplane', 'wheather', and 'evere', which occasionally distract the reader. The word choice is often repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'great' and 'academics'. To improve, you should work on expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations and synonyms, and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy to ensure that your writing appears more professional and polished.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Children who have physical education in their schools they are mentally strong' (redundant subject) and 'sports should bemade mandatory' (spacing error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments and missing commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and reducing the frequency of errors in complex structures. Proofreading for common slips like missing articles and incorrect verb forms will significantly enhance your score.
