Student answer (Band 6.0)
A lot residents comlpains that physical education classes are essential parts of kids education.
Whiles others think it is very important to focus on academics during school hours. I believe that physical education is the most essential, my will discuss both views and explain my perspectives.
Body Paragraph 1
It can be seen that most people discuss that physical education is important in a child's education, which is true, this is because children are active and they always have to perform physical activities. this will make the child more active and not a dull boy. This will make children who are not interested in schooling will develop an interest to go to school. This will also help them with their academic performance and their skills of activities.
Body Paragraph 2
Focusing only on academics during school hours is not really essential for kids this is because the kids are going to stress out, they will always be dull in class when it is all academics. At least children have to be involved in some physical activities which will enable them to be more sociable and friendly at school.
Secondly, children will not enjoy going to school all the time just for academic purposes without any physical education. This will make children less active even in their studies which will not help their growth.
I believe that combining both physical education and academics are more important than just academics this is because it will help kids to be more active, enjoy going to school and also help them to socialize among themselves without being shy among themselves.
In conclusion, physical education including academics are essential than just academics. this will promote children's skill knowledge and boost their academic performance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument that physical education prevents children from being 'dull' is mentioned multiple times without significant elaboration or the introduction of more sophisticated concepts like cognitive development or stress reduction. The response covers the requirements of the prompt, but the supporting points lack depth and specific examples, which prevents it from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the structure is somewhat mechanical. The use of headings like 'Body Paragraph 1' is unnecessary and inappropriate for an IELTS essay. While there is a logical progression, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes repetitive (e.g., starting multiple sentences with 'This will...'). The transition between ideas is functional but lacks variety. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more fluidly and remove structural labels.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'important', 'essential', and 'dull' repeatedly. There are also errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'comlpains' instead of 'complains' and 'residents' instead of 'people' or 'parents'. The phrasing is often simplistic, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas effectively. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'A lot residents comlpains'), punctuation errors, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'I believe that combining both physical education and academics are more important'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, although they do not fully impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures to ensure they are grammatically sound.
