Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many people believe that physical education is essential part of student's education, however, some people say that more importance should be given to the academics rather than physical educations. I believe that not only academics but physical education should also be necessary part of student education for its mental and physical growth. I will discuss both the view in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with physical education is considered as necessary part for the development of children. As per to me, this subject should be part of every child's education as this will promote the mental and physical health of student. This subject will provide children time to discover their interest in different games and they will able to know the sports which are made for them. To exemplify, when I was a child I was very weak as because of lack of time I always seems to stressed and under pressure, however, when I opt physical education subject I was able to discover my interest in badminton. I learned badminton and slowly it turned out to become my passion. Now I am so much into this game that I have won eight gold medal in state level. This subject not only helped me to discover my interest but also helped me to get stress free.
On the other hand many people believe that schools should put more focus on academics. As many students seems to be so much busy in physical education that they forget to balance the time between physical education and academics. Due to which, they score bad in academics . To exemplify, according to a research it is discovered that 75% students scored bad in their academic because they devote upto 90% of their time in physical education.
To put everything in nutshell, I believe that both physical education and academic are important , however, a student should be able to balance the time between both. With the help of this, they can maintain their mental health and academic scores.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and supported by personal anecdotes and general observations. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the negative impact of physical education on academic performance is supported by a specific statistic, which is a good attempt at evidence, though it lacks nuance. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, ensure that the discussion of both views is balanced in depth and that the conclusion synthesizes the points more effectively rather than just restating the need for balance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'To put everything in nutshell' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. For instance, 'To put everything in nutshell' is missing an article. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to avoid a repetitive structure. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'mental and physical growth' and 'academic scores'. However, there are recurring errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'opt physical education subject' instead of 'opted for' or 'chose', and 'I am so much into this game'. The range is somewhat limited, and the repetition of phrases like 'necessary part' and 'academic' suggests a need for more varied synonyms to demonstrate a higher level of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('many students seems', 'I always seems to stressed'), missing articles ('essential part of student's education'), and awkward phrasing ('As per to me'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. A greater focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
