Student answer (Band 6.0)

Physical activity classes plays an crucial role in children's education, which helps them to learn stay health physically and mentally whereas some people believes child's should more focus on their academics.

According to my perspective, during school time students feel stressed and tensed as they feel more pressure of studies on them whereas physical education classes helps them to reduce their stress and burden. For instance, in our school there is an one hour session for physical classes and activities, where students love to play different games like cricket, football, tennis etc. Moreover, this is the session where children's come to release their stress and also to be mentally prepare according to the research taken place in our educational institute.

On the other hand, some people believes that study is also important to focus during school time because educational institutes create our base of our future career like where we will stand in future. Furthermore, education is also important as this helps us to learn the values of life, as well as education set the standard of living. To exemplify, education in whole over the world is very crucial as to get any high paid job education is must required, without an education you can't even do a business to get success in life.

To conclude, focusing on academics is essential during school time because it helps us to learn new things and also helps to bright our future career. Beside that, we cannot ignore the physical activity sessions for children's because they may have interest these activities as which also good for their health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the importance of academics is repetitive, focusing heavily on 'future career' and 'high paid jobs' without exploring the intellectual or cognitive benefits of academic study. The conclusion is a bit contradictory, as it suggests that academics are essential but then pivots to physical activity without fully synthesising the two points. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced reasons for why academics are prioritised in school curricula beyond just financial success.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'To exemplify'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Beside that' instead of 'Besides that' or 'in whole over the world'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly with the use of 'this' and 'they' in the final paragraph. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of the essay feel more natural and sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'mentally prepare' (should be 'mentally prepared') and 'bright our future career' (should be 'brighten our future'). You rely on a limited set of common words like 'important' and 'education'. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. The errors in word form, such as using 'child's' as a plural, also indicate a need for more careful proofreading of basic vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Physical activity classes plays', 'some people believes', 'children's come') and article usage ('an one hour session', 'in whole over the world'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and pluralisation rules, as these are fundamental to achieving accuracy in written English.
