Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear opinion. However, the response is slightly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which impacts the development of ideas. While the main points are relevant, they are somewhat brief and lack depth. For instance, the discussion on academic benefits is quite general. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples and ensure your arguments are fully developed. The position is consistent throughout, but the brevity prevents a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to signal the progression of ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure feels a bit repetitive in its phrasing. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring better transition between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'physical education', 'academic studies', and 'team coordination'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'thag' instead of 'that' and 'physicall'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to education and child development. The current range is sufficient for a 6.0, but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other thinks', 'School’s should') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some spacing issues around commas. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct punctuation usage throughout your sentences.
