Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's changing world, the importance of the practical classes in children's education has become a matter of considerable debate. Many individuals believe that the classes related to physical education play a beneficial role in learner's life. While others argue that schools should prioritize academic education. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I believe that both types of education is beneficial in the long term.

One main reason why practical education is considered useful is that it helps students to enhance hands on experience. This is because, children can practice several practical skills at their schools, which will come in handy not only in their daily routine, but also in later lives. As a result, students will become able to handle all their important chores and decisions by themselves. For example, By teaching financial management during school time, children can be prepared for future to manage their finances more effectively, whenever they have to survive alone.

On the other hand, academic education can enable children to improve several life important skills. The reason behind it that if children learn from books , it will help them to sharp their critical thinking, imagination and cognitive skills. Therefore, for the development of student's brain, bookish learning plays an important role. For instance, when scholars read something from their books, they also visualize stories in their mind, which proves useful to improve imagination in children.

In my opinion, a balancing approach should be followed by schools for academic education and practical education. As both sorts of education are necessary for the overall growth of a child. One gives profound information about any subject, whereas other assists the learners to have some useful experience, which will be usef

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The discussion on 'practical education' focuses heavily on financial management, which is a specific life skill rather than a broad interpretation of physical education. The second body paragraph regarding academic education is also somewhat generic. While the prompt asks for a discussion of physical education, the student interprets this as 'practical classes' or 'chores,' which slightly deviates from the core topic of PE. To reach a higher band, ensure that the examples directly relate to the specific subject of the prompt (physical education) rather than general life skills.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph has a central topic, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand,' 'Therefore,' and 'For instance' are used effectively to link sentences and ideas. However, the final sentence of the essay is incomplete, which disrupts the flow and coherence of the conclusion. Improving the transition between the final argument and the concluding summary would enhance the overall structure. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some mechanical repetition of phrases like 'education' occurs.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'profound information' and 'cognitive skills,' which is positive. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'life important skills' (should be 'important life skills') and 'sharp their critical thinking' (should be 'sharpen'). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. Expanding the range of academic collocations would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the student attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('both types of education is beneficial') and incorrect word forms ('the classes related to physical education play a beneficial role in learner's life'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the incomplete final sentence is a significant error. The majority of the text is understandable, but the frequency of minor errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and sentence completion is recommended.
