Student answer (Band 6.5)

In this contemporary era it is generally debated either physical education should be involved with core subjects or it should eb avoided so that learners can focus more on their academics. However, I beileve including such subjects plays a vital role in overall well being of students. Both positive and negative aspects will be discussed in the following paragraph.

On the one hand, first and the foremost benefit of teaching physical education in the schools is that it aids in keeping the learners physically, mentallly and emotionally fit. Today's education is becoming innovative yet challenging which can pressurises the students perhaps burdens them for memorising theoratical part while leaving practical behind. Moreover, such subjects can benefit them in rejuvenating and freshens their mind by which learning can be more efficient. For instance, children who mainatin balance in core and extra-curriculam subjects and activites are found more creative as well energetic, according to Times of India. What is more, as not all the students are academic welcoming, one can pursue their future in sports for example, soccer or cricket.

On the other hand, some debate that this can be significantly harmful for student's actual education. Basically, education seekers can get distracted due to lack of focus on their core academics which can decrease their percentage. Moreover, this can result in non-seriousness towards their educational classes. Apart from this, due to skiping the core subject's classes one's future can be threatened, as most renouned universities and educational institutes demads certain and high percentage in order to get admitted for the further education, this can be lacked behind.

I would definitely say other than academics should be mandatory in the learning institutes as it is beneficial for the students to know their intrusts and develop hobbies and education providers should also educate them about significance of physical education lessons.

To conclude, race of achieving more grades is getting popuplar these days while forgetting the actual benefits of physical education classes. Eliminating such classes from schools is the negative approach as per my prospective. Since, this can be helpful for curing enormous diseases which a young one may face in near future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of physical fitness for mental health and the potential distraction from academic goals. However, some arguments are slightly under-developed; for instance, the point about 'curing enormous diseases' in the conclusion is a bit vague and lacks sufficient explanation. The position is consistent throughout, and the essay structure is logical, though the development of the counter-argument could be more nuanced to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the discussion of academic pressure and the mention of 'Times of India' is a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints, contributing to an overall coherent structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with attempts to use topic-specific language like 'extra-curriculam', 'rejuvenating', and 'academic welcoming'. However, there are several spelling errors ('eb', 'beileve', 'mentallly', 'mainatin', 'renouned', 'demads', 'intrusts', 'popuplar') and some awkward collocations like 'academic welcoming' and 'race of achieving'. While the meaning is clear, these errors and the limited range of sophisticated vocabulary prevent a higher score. Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on accurate spelling will significantly improve your performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'either physical education should be involved... or it should eb avoided' (should be 'whether'), 'can pressurises' (subject-verb agreement), and 'this can be lacked behind' (incorrect passive voice usage). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor slips throughout. While the errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex structures. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms will help improve accuracy.
