Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both perspectives and make your preference clear in the conclusion: you support including physical education because it benefits students’ bodies and careers. The academic-focused paragraph gives relevant reasons, such as preparation for higher studies and employment, while the other side mentions fitness, stress relief, and teamwork. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The academic benefits are asserted broadly, and the physical-education paragraph ends with the incomplete thought “allow them to make incredible,” leaving one point unfinished. Your opinion is clearest at the end rather than being established throughout. Explain each main reason with a specific example or consequence, and state your position more directly in the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the change in focus. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded together, particularly in the physical-education paragraph. The sentence beginning “On the other hand” moves from muscle strength to stress, games, teamwork, and academic performance without clearly separating or explaining these points. Some links are also mechanical, and the unfinished final idea disrupts the flow. Organise each body paragraph around a clear main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to both sides of the discussion, including “higher studies,” “financial stability,” “mental stress,” “teamwork,” and “discipline.” These choices show an effort to discuss education and health rather than relying entirely on basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent and sometimes make the reader work to identify your meaning, as in “acedmic,” “devlopment,” and “physival.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “make huge amount of money” and “relesed mental stress.” The range is limited, and repeated use of general words such as “help” and “important” reduces precision. Build accuracy with common academic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer structures, including the contrast between the two views and the explanation that physical activity can support academic performance. However, control of sentence structure is weak, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. The opening, “There are on going debate,” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an incomplete article pattern; “it also help them” similarly lacks agreement. Several clauses are joined without clear grammatical structure, and the physical-education paragraph contains fragments, including “allow them to make incredible.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise writing complete sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check agreement, articles, and verb forms.
