Student answer (Band 5.5)

education is important in one's life. we should try to educate our young ones physically and academically. some people believe that physical education classes plays an important role in education of children, while others believe that academic education is important during school time. i will discuss both views and give my own opinion.

some people says that physical education classes are an important for children. this is to say, that regular exercises helps in maintaining the weight of a body, strengthen their muscles and reduce health risks. i heard a quote "all work no play makes jack a dull boy" in my opinion, same goes with studies. children who try to learn only their academic subjects 24/7 will be more exhausted and stressed. in physical classes students will do some activities which might relax them mentally and may lower their stress. with less stress, they will perfom well in studies with . team work also teach children many valueable skills like cooperation, discipline etc. these all skills will help them in their future or in career as well. those children will learn how to accept victory and loss whole heartedly, which is important for personal development.

on the other hand, some people says that during school, academic education is crucial. one of the reason is that when children start playing they might face lack of interest in studies. they have to prepare themselves for matches and competitions and will not get enough time for studies. in school life, children should focus on science subjects which will help them to get their goals in future. for instance, children who want to be future doctors or engineers should know the importance of science subjects only.

in my opinion, although science subjects are mandatory in ones life to have a good career ahead. but benefits of physical classes outweigh the benefits of only academic education. both are important for being a successful individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear overall preference for including physical education, supported by relevant points about health, stress, teamwork, and academic focus. The discussion of the academic-priority view is less fully developed: the concern that sport may reduce study time is stated, but the example about future doctors and engineers is narrow and does not explain why academic learning should take priority for children generally. Your conclusion also briefly acknowledges both subjects but could state more precisely how schools should balance them. To strengthen the response, develop each side with a fuller explanation and a specific, relevant example, while maintaining your position consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Signposting such as “on the other hand” helps readers follow the shift in argument, and ideas within the physical-education paragraph generally progress from health to stress and teamwork. However, some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly “with less stress, they will perfom well in studies with . team work,” where the connection between ideas breaks down. The conclusion also repeats the general claim that both are important without clearly synthesising the discussion. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing to make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “maintaining the weight,” “health risks,” “competitions,” “cooperation,” and “personal development.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but the range is sometimes repetitive or imprecise, and several collocations and word forms are inaccurate. For example, “an important for children” and “many valueable skills” weaken naturalness, while “accept victory and loss whole heartedly” is not an idiomatic expression. Spelling errors such as “perfom” and “valueable” are also noticeable. Aim for more precise academic phrasing and check common collocations; for instance, describe exercise as “supporting physical health” and say students “accept success and defeat graciously.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast in “although science subjects are mandatory…” and a conditional idea about children who play. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, sentence structure, and punctuation sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “physical education classes plays,” “regular exercises helps,” and “some people says”; these subjects require matching plural or singular verb forms. The final sentence beginning “although” is also incomplete as written, and “with less stress, they will perfom well in studies with . team work” has a broken structure. Practise checking each sentence for a complete main clause, correct subject–verb agreement, and clear punctuation.
