Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, it is believed by some individuals that there should be a seprate lessons for physical education are an crucial part for pupils education, whereas focusing on academics during school time are more essencital for others. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I believe that learning about fitness is also important part for living healthy in future.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why people believe that physical education lessons are also an important part of child's education. The main reason is that children can stay fit and live there life healthy in future. This means that if they have knowledge about fitness or they know that how to stay fit and healthy at early age so, they can live there life without having an health issue. For example, in present children who learn about physical education at school are more healthier as well as more physical fit rather than those kids who only focuses only on academics during school time. Therefore, it is crucial for children to take class regarding physical eduction for their healthy life.
On the other hand, others argue that focusing only on academics are more important as it gives them bright future as well as better job opportunities. To elaborate this, if children have a good grades in their academics they can get a high pay job in big companies and due to this they can live financially good. For instance, nowadays individal who has good academics grade, paid more then a person who does not have good academics knowledge. Hence, it is important to focuse on academics for there own bright future and living financially stress free.
In conclusion, although focusing more on academics has some advantages, I believe that learning about physical is more convincing because living healthy life and staying fit .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for physical education in the introduction and conclusion. The health benefits are supported with an example comparing pupils who study physical education with those who focus only on academics, while the opposing view is linked to grades, employment and financial security. These are relevant ideas, but they are developed unevenly: the academic argument is mostly asserted rather than explained, and the examples are broad rather than specific. The conclusion also gives an incomplete reason—“because living healthy life and staying fit”—so the final position is not fully rounded. Explain how schools can balance both subjects and develop each example with a clearer cause-and-effect link.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow, and “For example” and “Therefore” help connect claims to support. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some features of stronger progression. However, links can feel mechanical, and some references are unclear or repetitive, such as “there life” and repeated use of “academics.” The conclusion is also an unfinished fragment, which weakens the final connection to the argument. Use more precise referencing and vary transitions while ensuring each paragraph ends with a complete, relevant point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “physical education,” “fitness,” “job opportunities,” and “financially.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “seprate,” “essencital,” “more healthier,” and “live financially good.” Repetition of “important,” “healthy,” and “academics” also makes the expression less flexible. Some phrases are difficult to interpret naturally, such as “learning about physical” and “class regarding physical eduction.” Build a more accurate set of collocations for health and education, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your relevant ideas clearer without changing their meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if they have knowledge … they can live” and a contrast introduced by “whereas.” This gives the response some variety, and the main message is generally understandable. However, there are some recurring errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “there should be a seprate lessons” has a number mismatch, “focusing … are more important” uses an incorrect verb form, and “an health issue” has an incorrect article. The final sentence is incomplete, and several long sentences would benefit from clearer clause boundaries. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and revise each sentence to ensure it has a complete grammatical structure.
