Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued by some individuals that sports period is essential for juveniles, while others believe that they need to focus on their study at school. Although I believe that physical education classes is integral part for childrens' holistic development and healthy lifestyle, academics can also not be neglected because it gives knowledge and success.
On the one hand, physical education classes are quite important because it helps to keep body fit, and students can able to know what are there capabilities as well as strengths are. Moreover, it will aid to broaden the exposure of the children, so in future they will represent the country while performing at the international platform. For instance, the ratio of obese people in some schools, where sports period is important, are very less as compared to other education institutes.
On the other hand, academics is also crucial for childrens' growth as well as job opportunities. To explicate this, if children will focus on their studies, subjects like maths and science, which will help them to improve their problem-solving skills, and they will contribute to the society while becoming an astronaut, doctor and engineer. Thus, the country's economy will boost, which might help to compete with other nations.
In conclusion, though I believe that physical educaion classes should be beneficial for children's health, all other subjects are also equally significant for their knowledge and growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state a clear preference for physical education, while acknowledging that academic subjects matter. Relevant points include fitness and obesity on the sports side, and problem-solving skills and career opportunities on the academic side. However, several claims are asserted rather than explained: the link between school sports and representing a country internationally, for example, needs a clearer explanation or a more realistic supporting example. Your opinion is also only briefly developed in the conclusion. The response is 18 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. Add specific examples and explain why you consider physical education integral while still valuing academic learning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow, and the main ideas are generally grouped appropriately. This already provides a coherent structure, though some links between claims are mechanical or unclear. For instance, the move from sports exposure to representing the country is abrupt, and “Thus” introduces a broad economic conclusion without fully showing the connection. The conclusion repeats the main position but does not bring the two arguments together. To strengthen progression, explain the relationship between each example and its claim, and use referencing and transitions that show those relationships more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “physical education,” “holistic development,” “problem-solving skills,” and “job opportunities.” These choices help communicate both sides of the discussion, and some less common expressions show an attempt to vary your language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “sports period,” “broaden the exposure,” and “the ratio of obese people.” There are also spelling and form issues, including “educaion” and “childrens’.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Aim for standard academic collocations and check spelling and possessive forms carefully; the suggestions below offer more idiomatic alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction and a conditional structure beginning “if children will focus.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, verb patterns, and sentence construction recur. For example, “physical education classes is” should use a plural verb, while “students can able to know” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence beginning “if children will focus” is also structurally incomplete before “subjects like maths and science,” and “the ratio … are” has a subject–verb agreement problem. These issues make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. Practise building complete conditional sentences and checking each subject against its verb, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
